Title: Flat Nipples After Top Surgery

June will be 2 years since my Double Incision with grafted nipples. My chest looks great but I was hoping my nipples would've turned out better. They are flat. There is no protruding nipple. My surgeon mentioned that it is all up to how your tissue grafts back onto your chest. If there is anything I'd like to alter it would be this. Has anyone else had the same results? And successfully had it fixed?

Hey man,
I haven't had this issue, though it doesn't surprise me to hear that it occurs from time to time. Who did your surgery? I'm not sure it's a fixable issue, but if you aren't getting an answer you like from your surgeon, you could schedule a consult with another and see if they can give you better news.

I went to Dr. Rumer who did a brilliant job. Her staff is awesome and well versed and her office is beautiful. I will consult with her again to see if anything can be done. I think she may be able to cut away some tissue to form a better nipple shape. I haven't heard of this from lots of guys so I'm trying to find someone else who's had this adjusted.

I have noticed that with some surgeons there just isn't a nipple after the surgery. That there is only the areola and no separate nipple. I went to Garramone. He cuts away the nipple, cuts it down and then sews it onto the areola that he has cut down to size. Do you know if this is what she did? Is the nipple obvious, or is there no designation of nipple? Even if there isn't, maybe she can do something to make it look like there is one?
If Rumer says she can't help, and you live in the area, maybe you want to check to see if Dr. Fischer in Timonium, MD can help. She has been doing top surgery since the 1990's.

Co-signing this suggestion. Dr. Fischer did my surgery and my nips are perfect.

I'm a little over 6 months from my surgery. My right side nipple protrudes but it's off center I think because the aereola looks almost like a tear drop then an oval. My left side the whole aereola is raised and you can see where the nipple is. I need to go to Dr.Fischer for a follow up, still haven't had time to make an appointment. I think I'm the only one that really notices it because my friend doesn't really see it. It's been bothering me a lot so I plan to go see her in a month or so to see what she can do.
