Title: SAD and dysphoria?
Post by: windlep on December 24, 2015, 01:50:08 PM
I have been known to get depressed and anxious during the winter, and I noticed my dysphoria is worse too. I'm worried it's a sign my GD is worsening and I'll be forced to transition, even though I'm not ready, or could it be SAD making it worse?

I used to suffer from SAD. Since I started transition it doesn't happen.

Winter does give you the blues and will negatively exacerbate any other challenging issues you might have. Are you seeking help for your depression?

The lack of sunlight for the last few months has been depressing for me as well. But when the sun comes out, my GD gets worse... since everyone else is out there enjoying the sun and I just don't really feel that great going outside pre transition. I'm not a shut in or anything, but seeing other people blithely enjoying stuff and not being as conscious as I am just reminds me how crap I feel most of the time about the body.
