Title: Someone opened and held a door for me
Post by: kelseygal on December 24, 2015, 02:52:33 PM
So last night I had my therapy appt later than normal - when I got there the door to the office building was locked. I waited awhile and finally a guy, somewhere in 20's I'd guess, came up and opened the door on his way out. What tripped me out is the way he held the door for me... It was sooooo different than if he would have opened it for me as a guy. Really tripped me out and felt so good!!

Also I've been noticing in my dreams, more times than not I see and sense myself as Kelsey, it's pretty cool. Anyone else have this shift so soon? It's like something about accepting, sharing with others and being me (even if only a few days a week right now and mostly at the house), flipped a switch.

Anyways, I'm on cloud nine :)

I've had my fair share of being offered a seat on a train and of being offered "you first" to enter an elevator or get on a bus. Never happened before! ;D

Kelsey:

Yes, while the act is debatable from the feminist perspective, there is a certain sense of exhilaration at such niceties.  He showed recognition of you as female.  Those early occasions do bring about your feelings of euphoria that may diminish over time, so remember them well.

I also comment for the singles out here that reversing the courtesy is an ice-breaker to meet new people.  In other words, for you single gals, hold the door for a prospective single guy and watch him flip for you.

Any good gentleman will open a door for a lady.

I'm new to the site, and as such cannot see much of your avatar but a pixilated image.  If I'd didn't know you were trans, I would say you are a pretty woman.

I'm just starting my journey on finding myself in earnest and wish you well on yours.  Sounds like you hit an important milestone!

Just someone trying to find their place in life.

That's cool! Feminists can refuse the courtesy if they prefer but some of us girls still like it (although I do like the idea expressed above of flipping the tables sometimes and nicely offering to hold the door for a guy.)

Merry Christmas,
