Title: Sararh Tokes has toked her last...Long live ElizabethK
Post by: LizK on December 27, 2015, 02:36:43 PM
Sorry about the tittle but couldn't help myself. :)

The name that I am now using is my real world one which I have only just decided on. So I have put Sarah to rest in favour of Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is the name my mother would have given me if she had know I was a girl

I like the name

The most amazing women I know are named Elizabeth

My wife likes the name

There are so many variations that I am not stuck for choice.

Not sure about a second name yet or even if I will change it. It is currently Alexander not hard to change to Alexandra to still keep in honour of my real Grandfather rather than my biological one.

Aside from all that I am proud to be trans and am no longer going to hide myself because of what ever I perceive others may think...too late the cat is out of the bag and there is no going back...so forward it is and as such using my new real name is a start in that direction, beside I need to get used to it.

Hello Elizabeth. Good to know you.

I chose Alexandra as my second name. It's a combination my first and second names at birth (Andrew and Alan). I love it. Every time I see my name written out, Susan Alexandra, I wonder at how I could have found such an amazing name.

I hope Elizabeth, and whatever you choose as your second name, does the same for you.

OMG Another Alexander. Nobody ever can guess what my middle name is. Except my wife who took a shot in the dark since her's is Alexandra.

Jesus, Elizabeth, I thought the title was some cruel way of announcing you'd kicked the bucket. About had a heart attack, haha. Gratz on picking a name and stuff!

Congratulations, Elizabeth!  I love all the various Elizabethan (heh) nicknames.  Eliza is my favorite.  Possibly because of a middle school crush.  :D

One of these days, I'll get a name figured out, instead of simply adding to the pile of names I answer to.

This business of name changes is all very interesting.  I never really thought about what it must be like to decide to change your name. I mean, to completely change your name.  It must be a very powerful psychological totem.

For me the change is almost non-existent. My legal name is Terence, but I have always gone by Terry.  So now I call myself Terri.

Funny, I used to hate my name as a kid. I was teased: "Terry the fairy!", which I didn't understand. I was shy but not particularly effeminate, I don't think. I was good at sports, anyway.  So I think maybe they said that just because it rhymed and was fairly good playground insult for kids in the 1960s.

To take it a step further, my middle name is Lee, which I won't have to change at all.  When the time comes, I will legally change my name from Terence Lee to Terri Lee.  Works for me!

For me it is about the seriously practical side of living...Sarah was a name I picked at random so for a name I intend to keep for the rest of my life I had to like and took some time to work it out. I will be Elizabeth or a derivation of it from now on. It feels like another little milestone along my journey.
