I hope he's right about the insurance.  I have the best medical insurance  in the country except that it excludes everything gender related.  Switching insurance would cost a lot more even factoring in expected gender related costs.  It would be nice if they would just cover it all but maybe that's too much to hope for.

It's a great wish list and I beleive there will be progress, I do not believe all of this will happen in one year.

I question whether Dr. Lies has ANY CLUE what is in store for trans people. I think it's a sad commentary that we go to a cisgender surgeon whose main area of expertise is medical and ask him to make predictions about social, political, commercial, and legal changes, instead of asking a leader within the transgender world.

I met him at the Philly Trans Health conference in 2013 and I was unimpressed. He seemed clueless about non-binary gender and generally out of step with the current state of life for transgender people.

I would not see him as any sort of expert.

These are the normal progression. Nothing surprising.

I really want to be positive, I honestly hope that we get all these things and more. I do know that real and lasting change takes time (a generation or two) and only with society understanding "why". I really hope the sheltered or close-minded side of society can open up to the fact that some people are different from them and that it's okay to be different.

One step closer to world peace.

Wow, he's a really upbeat guy... a real "glass 10% full" kind of person!

Young people are a lot more accepting than older people.  They will be the ones to end the discrimination.

IMHO it all depends on the end result and how someone looks. Sad but true.
