Title: STP Conundrum
Post by: Samwisethebrave on December 28, 2015, 01:54:29 PM
I need help finding a functional STP/packer.
After trying a simple mr.limpy type packer with homemade nipple style tubing in it and peeing all over myself for several months, I invested in a freetom... And peed all over myself for several months. I got the 4 in 1 sleek model. I had the STP down after about 3 months, but only in shorts with a very long fly so that I could essentially just take a wide stance and shove everything up against my body. The cup style is great for my heavy flow (I drink a lot of water), but the balls are so thin and floppy that a touch from my thighs collapses the whole thing even though I am a small person. The weather switched to necessitate jeans, and the packing with it is so horrible that I've switched back to a homemade packer I made several years ago. I live on a university campus and do a lot of outdoor activity, so it's an awful inconvenience to be constantly worried about sitting.

I have looked into almost everything on the market, and it seems like everything is either bulky in terms of packing, a functional STP but not a packer, or $200+ which I am hesitant to spend after the disappointment with my freetom. Help?

I've not tried it myself, but maybe give the mr.limpy w/a go girl funnel on it a shot. I've heard that it's pretty straight forward to use and good for most types of anatomy. Plus the funnel is pretty ample so spills/leaks shouldn't be much of a problem even with a full bladder. They sell it on tranzwear but I'm sure you could just make it yourself if you've already got a mr.limpy. and the funnel is able to collapse so packing shouldn't be too difficult. Best of luck!

The EZP STP, all the way.  But, yes, it is $200

I know they're on the more expensive but transthetics EZP is wonderful and they're on sale now for $195. The standard colors instead of only custom. The new design is perfect. It's an adjustment to pack with, but i promise it's worth the price and wait. Ive tried so many STP's. The EZP works super well, it's lovely to look at, and it's comfy for running around. Works well with most of my pants (I'll admit I've got one pair where the fly is too high, but they're a little small so that may play in). It's a lot firmer than it looks and I haven't had any troubles with it collapsing. It's as close to perfect as is available currently I think.

The only STP I've been able to use out of the box with no issues is this one:

http://www.ftmessentials.com/products/number-one-stp (http://www.ftmessentials.com/products/number-one-stp)

It doesn't pack very well, but it's doable. I've never leaked with it.

I can second this one!!!!! It is the absolute easiest to use. I loved it as an STP. Just really weird to pack. I ended uo tucking it into the waistband of my pants usually. And Actually the owner of the company sent me a tester harness that helped. I don't see them for sale but if you message him on etsy I'm sure he'd help. That's where I talked to him. https://www.etsy.com/listing/194476749/the-origional-number-one-handheld-stp?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=number%20one%20stp&ref=sr_gallery_1

Good looking out! I'm going to inquire about a harness. I have one that I tried (came with my peecock), and it sat weird. A different style might help.

Thanks everyone! I'm definitely considering the EZP but hesitate because of the price. I might get the number one to use for functionality while I save some more.

That sounds like a good idea.

I ordered the Buddy STP and the Rogue 4in1 from FreeTom. They were both clearance items and I got the Buddy for $40. I can't use the Rouge as an STP to save my life. I was having the same issues that you mentioned , but the Buddy STP works great. I'd try to catch it on clearance though because they are so expensive. You don't need a harness and it packs really well also.

I have tried the freetom buddy, rogue, peecock and number 1 and the only one I have been able to use successfully is my EZP. The only problem with the EZP is if you constantly wear it like I have it will warp over time. Mine is now like collapsed on one side and causes me to leak.
