Title: Can any Aussie girls tell me where they underwent effective FFS please?

I am 46 and will be starting HRT in mid February but I will wait 10 months before surgery in order to let HRT work its magic. I am asking this question because I hope to become easily passable in order to live as the woman I know myself to be but I am a newcomer to the understanding that transition is now a possibility in a manner that was unavailable to me in my past and I therefore remain ignorant regarding what is particularly available to us girls. I have saved money for FFS and fully intend to save more despite the massive financial problems associated with this. Our happiness deserves to exist and I intend to make mine become real, especially after all the struggles (both moral and financial) I have gone through.

Sorry, I didn't have any. To be honest I believe it is a fairly uncommon practice amongst the Aussie contingent, but I may be proved wrong! Just remember, being passable is about more than looks. :)

I don't think there's any point limiting it to Aussie's. There's nothing specific to Australia about FFS.
One thing I've noticed about people discussing FFS is they talk about different doctors being good a different procedures. So you might pick a different surgeon based on what you need done. There's a huge difference in price as well.
What's you plan for surgeries? FFS first?
10 months is really short. You may not have as much change as you're expecting by then. It goes on for years.
I don't know how well you know how to search, but there's a lot of information you can find with google. There's lots of tricks to finding it.

Thank you for your insight Grace but please understand that I am still largely ignorant of what is happening among the transgender communities although I hope I will be able to redress this as my journey progresses. I apologise for what seems like vanity and thoughtlessness to those who won't pursue FFS. However I have given it much thought and I am hoping that my desire for FFS is more than simple vanity because I am hoping that it will give me confidence in myself.
Okay maybe it's because I still have too much testosterone coursing through me and I'm still seeing femininity as something that is overtly visible and I ask you to forgive this of me and yes I DO know that being a woman is about much more than looks. But I have saved money for FFS and I most strongly intend to overcome my current ignorance.
I am also scared that my age will prohibit a successful transition but this could be my ignorance blathering again. Please forgive a learner Grace and maybe this learner can also see, to her advantage, your caring insight coupled with your soft and feminine looks that a beautiful destination awaits.

Getting FFS is totally your prerogative - you should certainly get it if you want it or feel you need it.
I'm sure there are plenty of Aussie women who go under the knife for FFS, I'm just not very aware of them on this forum or in real life.
I'd follow AnonyMs's suggestion though, most people from around the world seem to end up in a different country for theirs. A lot of it depends on how much you are willing to pay, usually you get better results for more money as long as you are seeing an experienced surgeon in FFS. Like Ms said, lots of research needed.

Sorry for limiting it to Aussies AnonyMs but because I am new to this stage of my journey it would be much easier for me to understand their responses and their experiences, especially my understanding of travel to more nearby places. I would certainly feel much less worried by local travel regimes than ones across the globe for example but I do not mean limited simply to the antipodes. Perhaps Thailand or the Phillipines? Although if this is impossible for me this is the only place I know of where to find this out. I am in no way racist nor do I denigrate other cultures. The whole world is a beautiful and exciting place but unfortunately I am on a quest to understand my personal happiness.
Sadly my self discipline is hurting me by waiting only 10 months and I'm hoping this will be long enough to avoid mistakes caused by being too quick with the surgery. But thank you for your insight, perhaps I am being too impatient.
Ciao, xoxo,
Roxanne.

Just in case this is useful
Type this into google
ffs transgender site:youtube.com
You can also do the above and change the site to susans.org (no need to transgender then). I find it works better than the built in search sometimes (usually).
Its also good to search things like m2f, mtf, results, srs, surgeons names, and various combinations of them.
Try searching google with this. The word facial lets google know that ffs means what you want rather than something completly non-trans related
ffs facial
Here's a few links
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_feminization_surgery
http://www.drspiegel.com/ffs-surgery-photos/
https://www.realself.com/facial-feminization-surgery
There's also a number of surgeons names you can search from the above links.

It's always best to just play it by ear... after ten months on HRT you might be "I'll give it a bit more time" or you might be "gotta get it done now"! It's all up to you.
I find that HRT plans and timelines are helpful but they can shift once the game (being on HRT) is in play. I had planned that it would be at the very least 12 months on HRT before even remotely considering going full-time in my transition... ended up only being 9 months before I did, I couldn't wait a day more.

Thank you so very, very much AnonyMs and Grace, I have communicated on this site with you both before (on other similar posts) and I am now realising that I owe you a debt of gratitude! I would be in the darkest shadows if not for the hopes of my transition and the caring guidance by girls such as yourselves. I will take your advice seriously and check out these latest posts.
Big hugs,
Roxie.
