Title: Just went out in public
Post by: TechGirl on December 31, 2015, 09:37:40 PM
Ok, little freaked here. Just walked to local grocery store for champagne and wine. Dressed in Ralph Lauren t-shirt, Women's jeans, bra,  forms, ladies wool shell jacket, short boots,  and cincher.

No makeup, no wig.

NO ONE SAID ANYTHING!

Yay, so happy for you. It feels good doesn't it. Only feels better as time goes on. You will find most will never say anything. They are to busy in their own lives to notice. Hugs

Exhilarating.  I did cross paths with one customer who must have been either drunk or purposely ignoring me.   And the cashier seemed to be not noticing very loudly.

Either way, it is interesting how people will not say anything when you do not meet societies norms :-)

Gives me confidence to try going out for a makeup session at a bit store while dressed :-)

I had my first make up session in a major store when dressed as a 'guy'. I told her I was trans and needed help. She did my make up and talked and chatted and helped all the way through.

To be honest the fear is in us.

Very few people care.

Ok,  here's an update.  Nice day out,  high fifties, just barely into sixties.  Went to outlet stores for a little shopping. Yes,  dressed neck down with forms.

Had makeup applied at bare minerals with my jacket off in full view of customers. Bought a new north face ladies jacket. Hit the kitchen store and a Soma.

All in full view with a ladies jacket on (unzipped) and with a little makeup on.

Oh,  then stopped by Starbucks and a few other stores on the way home.

No one said anything, and no one really looked at me!

Woot!

I regularly go out wearing womens clothes and heels (without make up and wig) . Nobody ever notices  :)

I'm guessing not on hrt?  Naturally feminine looks, maybe?

I long for the day when I can hang up the wig and just do a dusting of makeup (sigh).

I definitely don`t have particularly feminine  looks lol. I just wear women`s clothes as a guy with no intention of looking female. The clothes I wear are quite subtle : t shirt or top, jeans and wedge heels  :)

Me too along with a lightly padded bra. I should say I hope to eventually look female but sure don't now.

TechGirl, I have seen your picture in another post and you don't appear all that masculine. I think you may find it easer to pass than you think. Don't forget that others will see you as feminine long before you see your self that way.

Thank you :-)

I have seemed to have luck, or very understanding people in that they have been calling me by female pronouns when fully dressed.  Even those who recognized I was transgender didn't say anything.

I did finally have a sales lady call me sir, but she seemed so mortified, I had to keep reassuring her it was ok.  Had a nice conversation with her.

*** btw, this is an old thread that has probably run its course, much has changed with me since I started it; thank you all for the wonderful insights ***
