Found out that someone I know is also a CD should I tell them I am too? It would be nice to have someone else to talk to as I've only told 1 other person about it I could even get to borrow some nice stuff and get some tips but on the other hand I don't wanna have this awkward conversation or even worse find out it's not true and I've just revealed myself any thoughts or advice is appreciated

I would be very sure before letting them know that you know about their dressing or before revealing that you cross dress.

Thanks love! I know I have to make sure I have all my ducks in a row first or I'm looking at a potential disaster. Part of me wants to say forget it too risky but another part is excited to have a fellow CD to talk to and a potential new wardrobe

What's the evidence? How cogent and how credible? Direct or indirect? Caution!

Semi-related I've been considering telling my mom I cross dress she has seemed to drop hints that she knows but I'm not sure I might just be looking too much into things either way I don't think she'd care or maybe even be completely supportive should I go ahead and tell her?

No problem with telling someone that YOU dress, asking them if they do is kind of a taboo.

Thank you dear! The last thing I'd want to do is make someone uncomfortable

If you come out to another crossdresser, I bet good green money they immediately confide in you. :)

If your Mom is dropping hints, and seems like she would be supportive I'd tell her. The support from someone you love is amazing. You of course know your Mom but my Mom knows and is supportive of me.
As for your friend... Again be sure of your intel, but telling them you dress is a great opener. Hopefully they will open up, but depending on where they are (how comfortable/confident in who they are) they may not open up right away.
Risk vs reward thing, but I agree that having a friend to share all of you with is worth the risk.

I have also discovered that a good friend likes to dress. I will be waiting for the right time to let him know I am the same.
Timing is a critical issue and I will be biding my time to find the right moment and place.
We were playing golf yesterday with another couple of blokes and the subject of crossdressing came up from a friend who is a bit homophobic. He made a comment that crossdressers were gay, my friend and I offered the opinion that there are lots of different levels of being a crossdresser and lots were just normal people having a preference of dressing. The response was still an answer showing his ignorance of the whole subject. He is not someone I will ever confide in.
My wife is comfortable with me confiding but does not want us both ending up at home playing dress-up. I am hoping that we end up sharing as I would also like to have a kindred spirit to share with.
I am very lucky with a supportive family, as you can see in my changed avatar to me with my son.

Only you can know when it's right.
Your lucky having good dreams like that. They can be so soothing, helpful and satisfying.
I think take the sign in the dream, pick your moment and go for it.

Without a doubt, the best way to approach another person would be to confide in them that you yorself crossdress. . you let them know you are an ally but give them the choice to confide. . .
People are wierd about coming out. . I let my friends and family know years ago, and I was suprised. . no one cared. .

I had an interesting situation a handful of years ago in which a co-worker (of 10 years) replied to something I posted on a different CD forum. The message started: Hope you're sitting down...of course there was immediate recognition although she presented beautifully. We chatted back and forth a few times and it just hit me wrong. We talked about getting together to do a girls day but I just couldn't do it. It changed our relationship forever. I've thought many times how could that have gone differently? I'm still searching for that answer.
