Title: for all thinking about or actively proceeding with transitioning
Post by: stephaniec on January 04, 2016, 10:22:11 PM
Just curious where your planning  on going with transition. Just thinking about it or the total package moving forward or anywhere along the way. I'm still at the point of thinking about the practicality of GCS , but I going to go at least up to that point.

Waiting to get hormones to present male untill I can at least pass to some extent currently don't get close may reassess if passing isn't possible with out ffs to present male longer (presumably breasts will be obvious after 6 months to 2 years) puts a timer on for sure

Started hormones not too long ago and happier than ever :).  Don't wear a wig in public yet, but I do present myself in androgynous (almost unisex) girl clothes.

I was thinking about getting a tracheal shave, but I hear some girls experience a change in their voice with the surgery, and I'm not prepared to take that risk.  I've worked way too hard on my voice to then risk losing it!

As for GCS, I'll have to wait and see how things progress and how I feel about my body in a year or two.  I thought dating would be very hard without it, but so far I've had a much easier time dating-wise that I had imagined (even pre-HRT) mostly because I live in a really progressive city.  The decision would ultimately be more about what I would feel most comfortable with, and also about risks I'm willing to accept (e.g., medical complications like fistulas).

I voted "Other" since I am post-op and there was no option for "Transition complete". However, to answer as best I can I started living as female about a year before hormones. I originally did not want surgery but as I fitted in to female society more and more it became obvious that surgery was needed.

I voted other as I'm on HRT, thinking about SRS, and have no intention of social transition for the moment.

Me too.  Although my current hesitation about social transition really comes down to a fear of losing my job and my unfortunate personality characteristic of hating confrontation.

I'm on HRT and have been living full time since Nov 1, 2013. GRS is scheduled for 2017, hoping to get in on the cancellation list this year though.

Taking hrt and not presenting yet. I won't social transition until I'm certain I can pass. I don't live on a friendly environment. : (

Took estrogen for a couple years, then started presenting full time as female, identifying as genderfluid currently.

Started HRT 10 months ago.
Legally changed name and gender 8 months ago.
Full time transition 7 1/2 months ago.
FFS and Breast Augmentation 4 months ago.
Considering SRS for this summer.

The train has left the station and is on the express track to womanhood.....

I started presenting female 3 months prior to hormones. Can't wait for SRS, I want it as soon as possible.

Still waiting for boobs to grow though, looking into BA in future.

Started HRT 12/1/14
VFS in June 2015, full time just before that, FFS sometime this year, SRS in 2017 most likely

Foregoing BA for now. I like my breasts and they are growing. Maybe some body contouring.

Laser hair removal mid way through.

I don't know what else.

My cake was baked 30 years ago so I didn't answer the poll.

another impressive Bell Curve by the Susan's community. Our community must be statistically relevant .

On hormones and loving it, I never want to stop. Presenting as my true self all the time! Found my place between the binaries, trans tomboy. People degender their speech with me or gender me female, or butch female...yay! Working toward some surgery and a bit more hair removal. Taking that stuff slowly, step by step, until the dysphoria goes away and I can feel comfortable on a nude beach!

Can hopefully start hrt in June this year. Presenting my true self indoors, still collecting courage to go outdoors as well. I live in the center of my town, so when I get out, I will instantly be recognised. I know everyone over here, am respected as a single father and business owner. But there is also a lot of gay and transphobia in my town. In fact, it has the dubious honor of having executed the last homosexual in The Netherlands (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jillis_Bruggeman (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jillis_Bruggeman)). So the city council tries to do a lot about it, even appointed "gay ambassadors" to make LGBT people feel safe, but there is still a lot of hatred going on. Even when presenting as male I'm called a "->-bleeped-<-got" by kids on the street.

Tomorrow I'll take a deep breath, put on my high heels and go out at daytime, to my gender therapist. I'm very nervous about it.

Well, I voted that I'm going to eventually go the whole way. I've only been on HRT for just 27 days now, but I'm loving it... though my nipples hurt so much! The only things keeping me from presenting female at the moment would be facial hair issues and my dad's horrible reaction after I told him. The facial hair I can fix. I have my first appointment for electro tomorrow :) My dad, that's going to take a bit of work to get him to understand.
