"Yesterday saw yet another call for the BBC to take action against someone for anti-LGBT+ comments, and once again, the organisation has refused to act.."

I work for a news organization and the concept of objectivity was hammered into my head. They take it seriously.
So I think they would have to welcome all views, especially given the nature of the BBC. Now if it's violent hate speech it's another thing. But if both sides are fairly represented I don't see a problem.

Hmm it wouldn't be the first time the BBC has been accused of bias though.

Quote from: Peep on January 18, 2016, 07:23:46 AMIndeed it wouldn't, but the accusations always come from both sides which is pretty good evidence that on the whole they are in fact giving both sides a fair chance to represent their views.

Just because you and I think everything should be trans friendly doesnt actually mean we are right. Of course I think we are, but those who think we are evil sinners or simply misguided do have to have the same chance to put their views forward even though we may wish to do our best to refute their clearly flawed arguements.
I used to work for the BBC before I retrained as a doctor. Its a thankless task because everyone thinks that their view is the only right and reasonable one, and trust me as soon as you give air time to their opponent you get accused of bias. In reality though as a broadcaster the best you can hope for is that BOTH sides "hate" you equally for so called "bias" and then you can be pretty sure you are getting it right.
