Why I Stayed With My Husband When She Became My Wife
I'm blown away since right now we are on the front page of Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Why I Stayed With My Husband When She Became My Wife (http://www.cosmopolitan.com/sex-love/news/a51816/my-husband-became-my-wife/)
As told to Lane Moore Jan 8, 2016
My wife and I were interviewed by Cosmopolitan Magazine about us staying together after I transitioned. The article is a positive one but some things are factually inaccurate. It's obviously a juicy story in their version, but we wanted to clear things up with our family and fiends.
First off, I have not had surgery yet and the second to the last question was paraphrased by the writer incorrectly on what we both said.
For the Question - How did your sex life change over the course of Sydney's transition? - Here is what it should have said:
Leah: I love penetrative sex, and its no longer possible with Sydney because of the hormones(she hasn't had surgery yet). It was one of my favorite things and I do miss it, Sydney and I enjoy other types of sex, and because we have the kind of emotional closeness that we do, not having penetration does not take away from the depth of our experience.
For me, obviously with my response she wrote I didn't say that since I haven't had surgery. I had mentioned we made a clone in another statement and the writer took it to another level. Here is what it should have said.
Sydney: For me we are closer than ever before and it's about having fun and being close and there are so many ways to enjoy each other.
The rest of the article is pretty accurate and still we are overall happy about the article. We have contacted the author to update the article, but I don't know when or it that will happen.

I haven't read the article yet but I will. I wanted to say, though before I forget, that that is the best picture of you I've seen in the years I've been here. You both look so happy!

OMG, that is awesome!
How do you feel about being so out there with this kind of publicity?
I think I'd think it was both cool and a bit overwhelming to be so well known with an article written about me in Cosmo!
Cheers,
Denali

We are both still blown away by this especially since it's still on the front page and other articles have cycled through underneath. The interview was only on Thursday morning and I didn't think it would be this big, but it has. Even with the mis-information it's a very positive article and we are both happy with it.
We've been out and about in public today and no one had said anything and most people are too busy to recognize someone they might have seen online. Although it does kind of put you out there. But we are out and open and we live in a part of the country where no one really cares it you straight, gay, bi, trans or any combination. People here are pretty accepting so we are not worried about any backlash in our local area. I'm sure my biological father is going to be pissed when he hears about it since he's mentioned in a negative light, but what was said about him was the total truth.

Wow! Congratulations Sydney! You guys really put yourselves out there and, from what you've said, they'Ve mostly got it right. I hope articles like yours can help keep pushing the "normalisation" of our situation (mtf in long term relationships) to the broader public out there.
And I hope they do your corrections in the article!!

I know your not suppose to read the comments on these things but I just had to on Cosmopolitans Facebook page where all the comments were. Even though there were some negative transphobic comments, I was extremely happy to see where a lot of people stood up for transgender individuals and shut a lot of transphobic comments down. I created a capture of my favorite I wanted to share (so if it gets big, you've seen it here first).
