"Pope Francis has called for the Catholic Church to be more welcoming to LGBT people in a new book.

The pontiff, said in the new book 'The Name of God is Mercy', that the Church needs to be more compassionate to a "wounded humanity". "

FML, we're not "wounded" except by the !@#$heads who bash us.  Take your pity and shove it where the sun don't shine, Frank.  If it's anything like what I've heard out of him thus far, my money is on this book being full of describing the horrible sin that is LGBT and why catholics should be more tolerant of us filthy, pitiful sinners.

Compassionate in that case really means to have a smile on your face and feel pity  as you tell us that we are going to hell if we are ourselves.  In my view that's a pretty false compassion.
