I can't figure out how they can say stuff like
as if it makes perfect sense to them to hire of fire people based on their own personal religious "values."
Hello? Like these employers are totally sin-free themselves?
Besides, we're talking about professionals and business, not applications for membership in their church. What does someone's personal life have to do with anything? If a "business" wants to make decisions based on religion, then it's a CHURCH or cult, not a so-called business.
Odd, very ODD people these are... I'll never understand 'em.

QuoteUnder the current legislative language, Christian employers would not have the freedom to hire only those people who abstain from sexual practices they consider to be immoral.

Oh yeah. Have you ever talked to any of them? They think that the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. ::) ::) ::) (they will make sure to tell you "I am saved. Repent yourself from sin") Just talk to them and you will be amazed at the arrogance. This is why....*sighs*...never mind. I don't intend to create a religious debate on this thread.

Lol, one of my coworkers and I used to "discuss" his (baptist) beliefs a lot. It's... interesting. About as 180 from my attitudes and beliefs as you can get, but still... interesting to try and understand how he feels.
And hey, I don't care WHAT they believe. I just don't get why they think it's perfectly fine to bring those beliefs into the workplace. To me, the office is about... well.. work. People do a good job, they get promoted. People goof off, they get fired. Not... people don't fit into my personal religious values, so I dump them.
But what's troubling is they don't seem to have any concept whatsoever of why that's wrong to do. They seem to think they have a RIGHT to hire or fire people based on their religious, and not professional values.
That's scary.

Does this mean its ok for them to hire the religious extremists that killed my friends in Beirut, but not a TS who's never harmed anyone?
They were 'Christians' after all. >:(
