Title: Anybody who had wonderful response on a low dose of hormones ?
Post by: MtFGenderQueer on January 11, 2016, 02:38:44 PM
Hi , is there anyone who had a wonderful response on low dose hormones (Spiro and Estrofem) ?
I am on the second lowest dose of both Spiro and Estrofem and I wonder what I could expect ( I know YMMV ) . My dosage is typical startersdose .

What I would love to obtain are soft skin , a less oily face , fat redistribution around the nose ( manly nose ) , soft hair and feminization of body hair and odor . Larger nipples and some minor breast tissue as well as a fuller butt are highly welcomed too . Is that too hopeful ? Ideal would be to be in androgynous mode . Being able to pass both as male and female since I'm genderqueer MAAB .

Regards ,
would love to hear your experiences on lowe dose .

I can't speak for long term low dose. It was a short step to a full dose for me. But, if you haven't checked, you might find more in the non-binary area. I would assume you'd be in that androdganous zone with E and T going on. From what you were describing, that sound like the results of full on estrogen. Your Mileage May Vary is a very true statement... but in general, breasts and skin are going to be the first on the list of changes that you'll see. On a full E regimine you'll eventually see the fat redistribution.  I hope someone replies with better first hand info for you.

Obviously, it all varies by person, and there are no guarantees. My results not typical, disclaimer, etc. :)

I started on a very low dose and ended up having to cut *that* in half when it was clear from liver damage that it was still too high. (Without listing numbers, my dose is solidly within what is prescribed with no supervision to menopausal cis women, by patch.) Within three months I had achieved total male fail - got rejected for using someone else's ID when I showed my driver's license - and I am generally very happy with the results. Six years on HRT next month and I'm curvy, have the softer skin and female scent, and ended up 38DD with fairly large nipples/areolae.

I've had similar results so far, except for cutting the dose in half. I'm 4 months in and can't prove that I'm me anymore. Name change pending. My face has changed dramatically and while I'm not actually losing weight, it does seem to be moving. Some to my face and chest, but I wonder where the rest is going. Only up to about an A, maybe. Definitely softer skin. The hair on my legs only becomes visible enough to require shaving after about 1-2 weeks now, which is better than it is for most cis women I believe.

The first time I started hrt, I was on  estrofem and  spiro daily. After a month I had smaller pores, softer skin, and a small amount of breast growth.

Mod Edit- No dosages please TOS 8

Having been on/off low dose HRT several times over the decades the last thing on my agenda were physical effects.

So YES, low dose has been a life saver for me

Speaking for myself, I have been on estradiol, finasteride and spironolactone for over a year now and the results are fantastic. My last bra is a 40C and it is too small in the cups and too loose around the chest. Time for a new size.

Without mentioning doses, which are standard prescribed doses, I will admit to taking my estradiol under the tongue.
My endocrinologist knows this. The prescriptions for estradiol are filled at my local pharmacy with the Teva brand. Any brand of estradiol that will dissolve under the tongue is going to be much more effective than oral estradiol.

I am not and have never been a smoker of tobacco or any other vegetative material. Yes, this does make a difference. Vegetables are for eating, not smoking!

Took the same dose orally and sublingually. Made absolutely no difference except that taking it sublingually was annoying as hell!

Has anyone had a really low dose just to help with the dysphoria, I'm married and my wife says she may manage if I have a very low does and it helps to stop this constant pain and stress of GD which haunts me every day now. But if I start looking and smelling too female she doesn't think she can live with me, we did talk about splitting up but trying our best not too but I don't know how long I can keep going with this dysphoria eating me little by little every day, its like a vice in my head slowly slowly squeezing me, I can keep going for a good while longer but just scared one day I pop and really hoping maybe HRT would help, on waiting list for GIC so I guess need to see what they say.

smelling too female

What does she mean?? Females have a smell? Rather, I thought that they had less smell, if anything. Does she mean perfume? Just curious...

I think she means that my odor might change if on hormones, less manly I guess, basically if I get too feminine it will be it over which I understand, she married a man but I scream at the gods some day for finally finding out this side of me 15 years after marriage and 3 kids, I always knew there was something missing in my life, something not quite right, always tried different ways of trying to be a guy but none worked and always this feeling of trapped in a fog, only once I started dressing and expressing myself in a feminine manner did that fog lift and it was great for a while then dysphoria set in , would come in waves each one longer and now it seems to have just settled in constantly, have heard a low does of hormones can sometimes make it bearable.
