Title: Any tips on patch rash?
Post by: Tamika Olivia on January 22, 2016, 09:51:58 AM
My skin does not like the adhesive on my patches. By the end of a weekly cycle, the skin is inflamed and raw. I'm following the basic advice of switching sides and locations, but it still happens. I talked to my doc about it, and he gave me an asthma inhaler. He told me to spray it on before application, and the steroids would help. Thus far this has proven not to be true. If anything, putting my rash on roids led to more inflammation. Any tips or tricks? It's not severe enough to be a health risk, but it is slightly painful and unsightly.

Perhaps change brand. Climara has a reputation for causing this. Small patches like Estradot should be fine. Or change the route of administration, taking estradiol gel instead. :)
