Hey there, I just wanted to introduce myself, but im still scared and have a bunch of fears that i dont know what to do with. I afraid that the doctor will not let me transition, that if i do get to i will not pass. I mean i see so many beautiful and inspiring stories but i havent seen any that are like me i am 22, african american and have a lot of masculine features i am afraid ill be a trainwreck. i have finally been 100 percent honest with myself and now i just want to know if anyone has any success stories relative to me and also what steps should i take while waiting for my doc?

Hi KikiNova, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. I present as a mix of male and female, traditional views on "passing" mean nothing to me. I do fine in the world. Most of the prison cells we find ourselves in are created in our own heads. Seek yourself out, and be the best you that you can be. That's living authentically. That's the secret.  :)
