Title: How do you know if a lip lift is appropriate for you?

I think on some people its obvious that its a good choice, especially if you have the thin lips + larger distance between nose and mouth thing going on.
The only reason I would get one would be to create the appearance that my nose and mouth are actually closer together than they were originally, essentially making my midface seem a little shorter overall. But I've heard lots of conflicting opinions, some people think it never looks natural.
Also I like the shape and fullness of my lips, its only how they position vs my mouth that I wish was shorter. Would I regret a lip lift then? I don't want to get a bulbous upper lip that looks to big and like its injected with filler because I already like the fullness. Would getting a lip lift JUST to make your nose and mouth distance seem closer be a bad idea? I don't want their shape to turn much.
I've already heard that lips changing people pick up on right away, that its a huge change, which makes sense bc we are always looking at our lips.
So I want to shorter nose to lip distance but don't want my lips to look fake, done, or "off". And a lot of people tell me this is exactly what happens when you surgically mess with the lips.
Opinions?

Dollar for dollar it's the most feminizing surgery you can do.
The upper lip curl is subtle and in boy mode nobody really notices. But when you put lipstick on in girl mode wow...
I had mine done three years ago by Dr. Z. Absolutely love the results.

Hi,
I agree with Vicky on this one. It makes a big difference. See http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/Lips.html (http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/Lips.html). This is my problem currently. I had ffs and my doctor did an incredible job reducing my chin. Unfortunately the lip lift wasn't aggressive enough to make up for it. The lip length ratio to chin height now isn't very feminine (I'm going back for another slight lip lift).
It's more complicated than this however. Get a surgeon's opinion. It's an irreversible procedure and if it's too aggressive it might leave too much teeth and gums exposed. That would give the "off" look you mentioned. If your teeth aren't showing much currently, you might be a good candidate for this procedure.
Best of luck whatever your decision.

I am getting chin contouring + rhinoplasty + tracheal shave in 2 week and i was thinking of lip lift too. I however realised that due to my face being longer, it would just make my chin appear longer due to my lip higher placed so i decided to get lip augmentation for a good volume instead. This should decrease the distance between nose and chin at same time.. and chin will be a little smaller too.
