Hey there I'm a Transgirl from Germany and pretty new here. I plan to do a boob job in April to help me passing as a woman and to finally feel more female and comfortable with own body. My Boyfriend says that I'm already pretty passable but i think that I'm too flat for my height and my big shoulders.

So did one of you had a breast augmentation and if did it helped in your transition ?

I had a breast augmentation done and it really helped me. I wasn't on HRT so there was nothing happening. My surgeon measured me every which way from Sunday and asked how big I'd like to be. What I wanted was a natural size for my frame and we came up with a D cup.

The surgery didn't take too long and I was supposed to take the anti-nausea pills with my antibiotics but that was a minor thing.

You'll need someone to help you sit up because it's surprising how much you will use the chest muscles to push yourself up. I saw him a week after and the bandages came off and they looked great. I didn't wear a bra to allow them to settle down thanks to gravity. What's the old saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend? In this case gravity and cisgender ladies. They don't want the ravages of gravity and I needed it.

It's been over a year now and I still don't wear a bra unless I want to. I rather like the "jiggle" factor and they look very natural.

I'm happy with the work and the way it makes me look and my clothes fit so much better than with the breastforms.

Do research on your surgeon and try to get feedback from others who may have used him in the past.

Not only does it help, it makes it nearly impossible not to transition full time.  Largish breasts are a major visible gender marker.  And even if you have no need or desire to wear a bra, wearing one in public adds to the image you are trying to present.

I had BA 6 months into my transition. It has now been 5 months since I had it and it was a tremendous help in making me feel better about myself and my transition. I'm very happy with how they turned out and how I now look. 

That is really interesting in some other Forums i read that many wait 3-7 years after they started Hrt before they go for Implants. I was a little bit scared that it maybe is too early but now i feel alot better about my surgery.

@Tg Clare: Did you had the Implants under the chest muscles?

I think they went over. The reason being it's not as difficult or painful due to the lack of natural breast material. Generally for cis gender women it's under because of their build.

I have no complaints, in fact a gentleman on the cruise ship across from my ship got a consentual topless picture of me on my balcony. He seemed quite satisfied with what he saw. (lol)

I think that it is generally recommend that you wait at least 1-2 years to see how well you develop naturally with HRT before going to the expense of augmentation.  I discussed this with my therapist and surgeon to make sure that it wasn't going to be a big issue.  I had mine placed under the muscle.
