Title: feeling weak after JUST starting HRT?

First I understand this is no substitute for contacting my doctor again, but I want to ask if others have had this experience.
I've only taken two doses (which I understand it is not appropriate for me to detail here) of my medications and I'm feeling unusually weak? The weakness is mostly in my arms.
Does this sound like something unusual? I'm familiar with muscle mass reduction, but I don't think that makes sense after just starting...

I did not experience that. Are you drinking more water. Spiro will dehydrate you which could cause that symptom.

HRT will make you feel tired in the first few weeks but I don't know if that is the same as what you are describing. Keep in mind, what you are describing may or may not have anything to do wit HRT. If it persists or worsens see your doctor ASAP.

After two doses? I'm no doctor, but it sounds to me more like some sort of placebo type effect brought about by the emotional implications of starting medication. Hormonal change just doesn't work that fast. But starting hormone therapy is such a major turning point in life that it would be surprising if it didn't have emotional impact.
Don't be surprised by mood swings, changes in energy levels, etc. as time goes on. And, as always, if something seems seriously out of whack, call your doc!

I had a similar experience starting on my dosage of AA - I think it was psychosomatic from the perspective that I was actually doing something to improve and the relief of having made progress.

I can't add much except to say that this was not my experience.

I'm going to also guess it's Dehydration. I've been taking dietetics for about 9 years (HCTZ just changed out for Spiro!), and I've found if I don't stay up on my hydration, I feel Weak, Lightheaded, Hungry, Agitated, In Pain, and just Blah. So pound down that water.
And Water is best. Caffeine also dehydrates.

Salt helps with water retention as well. On Spiro, you lose salt/sodium.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. As some suggested, I think I was feeling out of it from dehydration. I've increased my water intake and I don't notice the feeling I described anymore.

Hope this helps!
I occasionally get weak as well, and I'd say it also started early. One of the drawbacks of hormones is that you have to work harder on your lifestyle while taking them to remain feeling good. Drink lots of water, and take more salt than usual if you can. :) Also, make sure you are getting good sleep. It's possible your levels may be unbalanced, but I doubt that would happen right away.
