Title: Flying to Italy - will being trans be a problem?

Flying over to Italy in the summer, and I'm worried about treatment at the airport.
I'm not sure how trans people are accepted / treated there. I will be binding and packing while travelling, and the last thing I want is it to show on the scanner, them be suspicious and be forced to have a search.
I'm also unsure whether or not my gender marker change will come through in time. My passport and all ID says Matthew, however it currently displays as F.
I've heard that procedures and acceptance can vary country to country, so if anyone has advice on what I can do to avoid trouble, it is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mathew I a MTF and had absolutely no problem flying from England to Spain and to Croatia My passport and bookings where all in my old name but there was no problems about that I just approached the boarding desk and discretely told them I was trans and when it came to boarding they treated me as my chosen gender .Passport control was the same but in the UK if you have one of the new chipped passports use the automatic gates they avoid You having to interact with the staff member

Don't worry about Italy... They might have the capital of catholic fundamentalism, but trans acceptance isn't really an issue, and definitely not by officers and staff on international airports. Although they will take away your water bottle, because you could be a terrorist.
