Just what do you mean by "safer bet". Are you referring to function, long term physical health, or something else?

Safe in terms of medical risk would have to be penile inversion as colon is a far more invasive surgery.
Colon's not very popular these days.

Hello. I had this surgery (sig/col/vag) maybe 20 years ago in America as upgrade from original PI. It was my experience much better results and easier recovery that original surgery. Also no need for dilation or lube. Inside feels same as inside of my mouth (same tissue). Maybe unpopular in America because people who do not have experience say it is bad. :)

Welcome to Susan's Place Melody. I heard of the colon surgery back when I was transitioning but there was a risk that the colon wouldn't heal correctly causing a blockage or other complications. If you don't have sufficient material to work with or you desire better self lubrication, it may be a superior procedure.

"safe" In long term health I have heard that sigmoid colon grafting gives you up 8 inches and penile inversion depends on various factors like the existing length and elasticity.
Just want to gather be enough info on all before deciding.

There's a 3rd option, Suporn's and Chettawut in Thailand. I've heard of people getting 8" with Suporn, so I guess its possible there too. Reasonably safe as well.
