Title: My wife's birthday - I have an odd request
Post by: Cindy on February 19, 2016, 02:18:06 AM
My lovely wife has been with me through my battles. I love her deeply.

She is severely disabled but maintains an attitude to life that is inspirational to me, and everyone who meets her.

It was her birthday on 18 February and her wish was to be taken to the Adelaide Zoo for a day out from her Nursing Home.

Of course we shall do so - but I will struggle pushing her in her wheelchair, that is my problem and I shall deal with it.

I have an odd request.

She knows I spend most of my life helping this site and the wonderful people here. She totally accepts transpeople and has been and is my number one supporter.

Do you wish to give her a birthday hello?

I'll then print them off and give them to her in her birthday card.

This is a pic from a few years ago.

If you don't wish too that is fine!!

Birthday greetings from sunny Sydney! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and  hope that your wife spoils you rotten. You are incredibly lucky to  be hitched to such an intelligent, sensible and humane person who gives so much of herself and her time for others. I sure hope she has organised something special for you, or we will all hold her accountable!

Happy birthday, Rebecca! Enjoy your trip to the zoo.  :)  I know you will because you'll be there with the one you love. You're two beautiful people who richly deserve each other, and were fortunate enough to meet and share a lifetime together.

Hugs form Boston, Devlyn

Have a great day. Do things you want. Eat what you can. Most importantly, groove to the best music on the personal soundtrack that plays in your mind(weirdly phrased, but if you understand, it's the best).

You help to rock our world.

You are all so sweet.

Thank You.

She really enjoyed the day. I am exhausted as I struggle to push her nowadays, but it was so worth it.

That's a sweet pic.

I'm surprised they haven't given her a motorised chair, they seem to be all the go these days (no pun intended!!)

I would have to buy it, I get no government support at all, not even for nursing home fees.

Surely under the NDIS...? Or is she exempt due to the nature of her disability? We don't have to discuss here, I'm just bamboozled by the non-support.

I don't want to be the one to break it to you Cindy, but I think you and Rebecca may have been conned by one of those fake zoos I heard about on the news... I don't think they are real pandas in that enclosure.

Reality is very subjective. Happiness isn't.

the two pandas were doing whatever pandas do..

So their friends allowed a pic.

Rebecca was happy,

There is a very special privilege in escortingand loving a disabled person.

You learn how to be happy and understand what happiness is.

Scratching your nose is high!

Glad you both had a great day. [emoji4] Love really does conquer all kinds of obstacles.
