"Marla Murphy doesn't go out much. She worries that if people recognize her on the street, they might come after her like before.
On most days, the former Rapid City Council member stays at home with her three cats, venturing out for groceries but not much else. Seated at her kitchen table recently, the blinds drawn against a sunny day, Murphy said she just wants to be left alone.
"I'll come out," she said, "if I need to fight for the kids.""
