As Gay City News prepared to go to press October 10, the Massachusetts Democrat Barney Frank announced a press conference for late Thursday morning in which he said he would address "the obligation of the Democratic Party to govern responsibly when confronted by a demand to react emotionally by a deeply committed, single-issue faction insisting on putting ideological purity over achievable advancement of our values."

IOW, screw the trannies because we're holding up progress.

Nevermind that the bill will not be signed by the current President and that all Frank has actually managed to do is divide the community once again, which was his intent to begin with, that I have no doubt.

Has he? I mean wow, my personal opinions on the whole GBLT thing aside, it's been amazing to watch the outcry created when the bill was split. Seriously... has the "community" ever been this TOGETHER? This... "standing as one?"

I mean geez, I'm almost changing MY mind about it all. I originally felt kinda bad holding the gays back by piggybacking on their bill, but after seeing how THEY want to keep "us" all together, it's been... inspiring.

Yes, he has and if he is "forced" to go ahead with the inclusive package and it fails, it will be the "evil transgenders" fault.  If nothing happens due to this row then it is the "evil transgenders" fault.

Mayhaps some organisations and a few individuals are willing to stand with us but I have been getting a lot of heat from those in the gay community behind the scenes. To be honest I am about to say forget it and go back to a life of solitude and finish the separation that I started between myself and the LGBT community. Sure I will call my Congress Critters but the activism and the interaction on my part with the community would go away.
