"Winding my way 'round deadman's curves at unsafe speeds all the way up a Malibu mountaintop to meet Caitlyn Jenner, I asked myself: who would live here except a recluse? Cut off from the rest of the world, high above it all, looking down from her own Mount Olympus, is there more than a metaphor at work here? "

From Caitlyn:

"The biggest criticism has come from within the community," she tells me. "It's not the cis [not transgender] girls out there, or the cis guys. They love what we're doing here."

I hear you, sister, I hear you.

I'm not into reality shows generally but I did bite the bullet to watch two episodes of Cait's show this week. Do I like it? No, it's a reality show. However, with that said, I think it's pretty good. It puts the issue in lots of households and sends a positive message. I can't figure out why it has engendered so much animosity. I think Cait really wants to help others as she goes through her process. Of course I don't know for sure but hey, it's a reality show. So, go Cait!

I saw an episode last year and there was like 5 minutes of Cait and 25 minutes of commercials . I don't have a TV or a subscription so I'll probably never see it again unless I'm in a motel room again.

...she stood by her own, personal preference to "look good." She recognizes she misstepped when she said she didn't want to 'look like a man in a dress.' "That was my own personal statement...But Jenner's point is, looking good is important..."I think it's important for this community to present yourself well, to feel good about the way you look. If you walk out the door, and you feel good about the way you look, no matter what that look may be, for you, you feel good. I like that feeling."

OK, got it for the third time now.

Yes no kidding right? How many times is she going to state that. It is not any less superficial this time around.
