Title: [pained laughter]
Post by: kk on March 13, 2016, 03:49:21 PM
Hey guys.  Going by KK on here since that's something my brother used to call me (he had a speech impediment when he was young and couldn't say my real name, haha), and I don't know what name to give myself since my identity is in flux right now.

Past two years or so been thinking I might be trans, but I was focusing on school so I always pushed those thoughts away.  But for whatever reason, it recently hit me like a train that I am definitely FtM trans, and I'm trying to sort that out.  So I thought I'd come here -- been lurking in the forums for about a year or so, but never made an account -- and try to find some answers and similar experiences.

I'm about to move away from my small hometown, to a bigger town with more of a LGBTA scene and I hope I can find more people like me to talk to.  My best friend is also a transguy, but he lives on the east coast, and I'm on the west, and we're both busy so we don't talk as much as we used to and we've never gotten the chance to hang out in person.

Once I get my apartment and job settled, I'm going to seek out a gender therapist and get this ball rolling, see what's really going on in this big stupid brain of mine.

welcome. I had a very similar thing happen myself. I remember thinking when I was a very young child how I wish I had been born a boy but hadn't really thought about it much until this past year, where all of a sudden it hit me like a truck. I can understand that this must be hard and it may also be hard on your family. (if they are at all like mine. they assumed that since i didn't "act trans" then i probably wasn't) but you are probably doing the right by trying to figure this all out. After I came to terms with it i certainly felt much better. Wishing you luck, and around if you need to talk.

hugs
Sebastian

Greetings KK!

I can relate to the sudden reliazation of my gender identity that made everything else click into place. I'm glad you made the decision to formally join up and make an appointment with a gender therapist.

I'm only 3 months into my gender transition myself and Susan's has already been wonderful in helping me on my way. I am fairly new as well but I'm always open to talk to anyone who needs a friendly ear.

-Cheers,
Wallaby
