I think it definitely did for me.
Before going full time I had so many people that wouldn't believe I was in my 40's, especially when I started my new job. Most thought I had been hired as a college graduate rather than someone with 20 years worth of experience in the auto manufacturing industry.
I used to get a kick out of the look on people's faces when I would say something that started with "Back in the 90's....." :D

Absolutely. I feel like I look a lot less old in the mirror than I used to. Last week I had two people tell me I look <25 and people tend to not believe me when I tell them I'm 34.
My gf says I dress and have the body language and posture of an angsty teenager though, so that might have something to do with it? I'm just really immature all the way around really. Wheeee!

I got carded at 49 when I was still presenting as male. Turns out that the guy behind the counter was my age but he looked like he was in his late 50s.
He asked for my ID and when I incredulously questioned him why he apparently had doubt about whether I was old enough to buy beer. He did a double take when he saw my birth date
I constantly get told that I appear 10 years younger than I actually am, but I never get carded anymore :-\

Yes, without a doubt. Much younger!
E slows down ageing and keeps us young. This has been shown in studies. Facial hair removal also helps, I think. The reason, I think, ciswomen age faster and look older is because of their fluctuations and times of low E AND how their hormones already start to decline significantly after 30-40 yrs old. We have a constant flux of hormones and many of us continue taking hormones the remainder of our lives.
Volume 64, Number 1
OBSTETRICAL AND GYNECOLOGICAL SURVEY
"Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) studies, in postmenopausal women, demonstrate that it is declining estrogen levels, as opposed to other aspects of aging, that are associated with undesirable skin changes that accompany aging (9)."
"Effects of estrogens on skin
Increased skin thickness (4)
Decreased collagen breakdown (84)
Increased collagen production (85)
Increased production of collagen fibers (86)
Increased epidermal hyperpigmentation (81)
Decreased sebum (87)
Skin function Increased water-binding capacity (88)
Increased fluid retention (89)
Decreased cellular-immune response (55)
Increased vasodilation (48)
Increased elasticity (90)
Improved wound healing (91)"
"Declines in estrogen in menopause are clearly associated with the thinning of the skin observed as women age. The direct effects of estrogen with regard to skin thickness are confirmed by the observation that estrogen replacement in menopause is consistently associated with a thickening of the skin. HRT has achieved increases in skin thickness of up to 15% (20)."
"The age-associated decline in estrogen is accompanied by drier skin as the water-holding capacity is reduced (20)."
"Improvements in water retention are a result of an increase in acid mucopolysaccharides and hyaluronic acid in the dermis (29)."
"Estrogen replacement therapy has been demonstrated to improve skin hydration (4), and decrease the risk of postmenopausal dry skin (20). Elevated endogenous estrogen levels during pregnancy also improve the hydroscopic properties of the dermis (4)."
"most subjects exhibited the driest skin during the menstrual flow, when circulating estrogen levels are at their lowest (2)."
"Estrogen in replacement therapy both prevents collagen loss and stimulates increases in collagen production. A large number of studies have demonstrated an increase, with HRT, of skin thickness associated with higher skin collagen content. Increases in skin collagen as high as 5.1% have been demonstrated with exogenous estrogen through HRT, with increases in dermal collagen as high as 6.5% (20)."
"At the menopause, a rapid decrease in skin elasticity begins (4,14), and this can be slowed or reversed with estrogen replacement therapy (4). Prevention of elasticity loss has also been reported with the use of HRT (14)."
"The consequences of estrogen deficit after menopause include increased wrinkling."
"Estrogen cream produced significant improvement in wrinkles in clinical evaluation (4,20)"
Arch Dermatol. 2008 Sep;144(9):1129-40
"Two-week topical estradiol treatment stimulates collagen production in sun-protected hip skin, but not in photoaged forearm or face skin, in postmenopausal women and aged-matched men. These findings suggest that menopause-associated estrogen decline is involved in reduced collagen production in sun-protected skin. Interestingly, alterations induced by long-term sun exposure hinder the ability of topical 2-week estradiol to stimulate collagen production in aged skin."
Climacteric. 2007 Aug;10(4):289-97.
"Estrogens have a profound influence on skin. The relative hypoestrogenism that accompanies menopause exacerbates the deleterious effects of both intrinsic and environmental aging. Estrogens prevent skin aging. They increase skin thickness and improve skin moisture. Beneficial effects of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on skin aging have been well documented"
Ann Endocrinol (Paris). 2006 Dec;67(6):575-80.
"Estrogen treatment in post menopausal women has been shown to increase collagen content, dermal thickness and elasticity. Biophysical properties are also significantly improved for the parameters reflecting hydration and sebum secretion."
Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol. 2007 Feb;130(2):202-5.
"Our data suggested that topical estrogen associated to systemic estrogen therapy seems to increase the expression of skin collagen amount, which may prove to be beneficial for the postmenopausal facial skin."
Maturitas. 1999 Dec 15;33(3):239-47.
"Our data suggest that the decrease of skin collagen is an estrogen-related phenomenon."
Exp Dermatol. 2004;13 Suppl 4:36-40.
"The skin is a target organ for various hormones, and sex steroids have a profound influence on the aging process. A decrease in sex steroids thus induces a reduction of those skin functions that are under hormonal control. Keratinocytes, Langerhans' cells, melanocytes, sebaceous glands, collagen content and the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, for example, are under hormonal influence. Topical application of estrogens has a positive effect on skin aging parameters, whilst numerous studies have also shown the positive influence of systemic hormone replacement therapy on skin aging."
Br Med J (Clin Res Ed). 1983 Nov 5;287(6402):1337-8.
"The implication of this finding is that oestrogen or testosterone, or both, prevents the decrease in skin collagen content that occurs with aging and protects skin in the same way as it protects bone in postmenopausal women."
Some have noticed the addition of bio-identical progesterone to further improve skin tone and make them look even younger. Progesterone increases sebum production.

I have always looked younger than my age, which is awesome, except when I was 18 and looked 14. I think HRT and good genes, along with a nip here and a tuck there, daily exercise and eating well (mostly whole unprocessed foods), has helped me to maintain a youthful appearance; I'm 52 and my birthday is in a few months. ♋️ 😊

This subject came up before in a similar post. The answer is definitely yes. I come from a large family of 11 girls. I am almost in the middle but my skin, hair and weight make me appear younger than my youngest sister or equivalent to her age. I also have an aunt in her 90's who was on HRT for a very long period and she also credits estrogen for her younger appearance. If you saw her, you would think she is in her mid to late 50's. It might be our genes, but I feel the estrogen has a lot to do with it. I do maintain a good diet, exercise and believe in a skin regime and care because I want to maintain my physical as much as I can.

If indeed there was a cream that worked for maintaining youth, trust me, it would have already been found out by women through word of mouth and that cream in particular with that set of ingredients would have eventually been reproduced by other companies after the patent expired. No such cream, sadly. Indeed, surgery can help but I personally think the safest, most cost-effective and natural approach to slow down ageing is sex hormones (but due to fears related to that famous study, is more rarely prescribed these days), low levels of stress AND genetics. Malnutrition can accelerate ageing, perhaps excess carbs and too much sun exposure, of course...don't go to tanning salons...super nice short-term but long-term, awful (+ skin cancer).

My morning facial cleansing and moisturizing regimen consists of Dove moisturizing soap, Olay firming cream, and Neutrogena clear face sunscreen (broad spectrum spf 55); and in the evening I use Neutrogena make-up remover cleansing towelettes, and Olay firming cream.

For me, unfortunately, no. Although HRT has helped a bit with reducing skin pore size, and slightly softer skin, I look every bit my age without makeup. I have a terrible complexion, much of it due to sun damage while in Afghanistan, the rest due to genetics. I would say facial hair removal has done more for my looks than HRT, but I have only been on hormones about seven months.

I definitely look younger than I did pre HRT. I'm 47 and pass for early 30s. Back when I was still working one of my coworkers started to say "you're not old enough to remember..." I got a big kick out of telling him that I am ten years older than he is.

Yes definitely HRT the fountain of youth.
I have been on low dose HRT for 3 years now (although a transitioning dose since Nov 2015). Most people that have never met me (I recently met another Susans girl called Elle) rate me about 15 years younger than I am and people that do know me or my male self, reckon that I look really good with a beautiful sheen to my face. One person who hadn't seen me for 5 months said - my goodness you look so well, there is something so different about you. Another male fail!
So for me I believe its a combination of Oestrogen and beauty treatments.
Daily I use Simple kind to skin cleansing lotion, followed by Simple Facial tonic then Simple rich moisturiser both morning and night (although at night I put a Clinique intense Night moisturiser on plus special cream for my under eyes.
Twice a week i use the Simple facial scrub instead of facial cleanser and once a week use the Simple deep cleansing face mask.
I also have a monthly 90 minutes facial at my beauticians.
I also think that laser hair removal has helped too.
For my body, I use Dove Triple moisturising Body Wash then moisturise after every shower or bath with and use Swisse Hand Cream with Vitamin F and Pomergranate for my hands and arms every night (Oestrogen dries out the hands), but I also use some of this every night to give my breasts a gentle massage . Makes them very soft, increases the blood supply to the breast tissue and makes me smell nice too.
It all helps to make one look younger.

So for me I believe its a combination of Oestrogen and beauty treatments.
More likely, the estrogen that acts from the INSIDE out. I have my doubts about these creams. The evidence for their effectiveness is very weak as compared to estrogen. They may just give the illusion of better hydrated, healthier, younger skin and really do nothing for improving deep skin structures. Also, I wonder if all these chemicals found in creams might actually be harmful for our skin, long-term.
QuoteOestrogen dries out the hands
Interestingly enough, when I switched from oral to injectable E (hence from lower to higher levels of E), my hands, skin and hair stopped being dry and were so smooth and soft. It was truly incredible!
Some transwomen report improved skin tone and less dry skin when reducing their E and adding P.
I personally don't use any cream and look wayyyy younger than my age.
