Hi I'm Gillian,
A MtF Girl, I've always felt female and knew that I wanted SRS for definite at about 25 Y.O. Guess it took another 15 years of trying every preparation including hormones before I could face the world – Life does begin at 40 !!!
In Jan 04 I put myself on hormones, Told my doctor, friends and relatives in Sep 04, Work found out at the same time so I was well and truly "out" at this time I went full time.
So I've been out and about as me for 16 months, I've now got all the "ticks in box" so to speak to move forward for surgery within the NHS, the only hold point been funding, as I don't have much confidence with the NHS or feel that there surgeons can provide the best SRS possible I'll be going private, I've already contacted Dr Suporn and will be booking surgery for October.
Hope this isn't to long an introduction.

Hello Gillian,
Welcome to Susan's. Yep that's a great intro. I'm sure that you are going to like it here. There is plenty to browse through in the Wiki, and there are lots of freindly members here who are only too willing to offer help and advice where needed.
Be sure to read the rules and be sure to ask if there is anything about them that you don't understand. Take part where you can as that's what makes this site such a great one.
Chat later
Steph

I'm a bit late here, but welcome to Susans. I could tell you were from the UK when you started referring to NHS, but a quick check of your profile confirmed that. I've been considering Dr. Suporn myself, as his technique sounds intriguing. I'm still undecided as to whom I'll choose. It will probably be at least a couple years before I have my surgery. Anyway, take a look around and good luck with your surgery.

Um, Peggiann, Leah was the second person to reply to this. It sounds like you both need to discuss when the actual surgery date is going to be.

Yep Your right but there has been somethings come up that have maybe set it back for a while longer. We are hoping that it still can be October but at this point looks like may have to wait till those duckies learn to stay in line beter. Sorry for the confusion.
