Title: Help: Need an endocrinologist in Bangkok
Post by: Richenda on March 28, 2016, 11:42:19 PM
Hi everyone,

I am now living in Bangkok as of 2 months ago. I continue to travel to the UK so I'm in the system there but, and it's a big but, I badly need a Bangkok endocrinologist to take me under his or her wing.

It's a long story but with HRT etc. I'm not prepared simply to self-med or rely on my UK visits. I think it's very important as I travel down this road that I've got someone I can rely on to get check ups etc. No problem with doing this privately, in fact it will need to be.

Please please I'm not asking for SRS recommendations. I know there are lots here and that may come in due course but for now what I'm after is someone who knows their onions as we say in England: just a decent endocrinologist who can monitor my blood levels and keep a check on me.

Any recommendations please please please? :)

Given it is the "Land of GRS" I'd be surprised if you couldn't find someone there without too much trouble. Good luck, hopefully someone here knows some contacts.

Thanks!

It's a curious one this. There are zillions of transgender kathoey, the best GRS surgeons in the world and yet, and yet, I've found it difficult to find anyone who is specifically an endo. They must exist, but where are they?!!!

A lot, and I mean a lot, of kathoey self-medicate out here. I've spoken with a lot of them and there are some pretty shocking stories about what they do which I won't repeat as I certainly don't want to give anyone ideas. The ones you see are those who have made it through ...

Well it is apparently the case that there are two levels of health care in that country, one for the locals and one for the foreigners. Not hard to guess where the better service and care lies.
