Title: How to begin?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips specific to Dr. Medalie? I'm only 19 so I just started planning all of my own doctor stuff lol, and it's kicking my butt. I've been on his website multiple times, but I'm always anxious I'm going to do something wrong. So, as of today I'm pretty much at square one. All I've currently done is saved up money to pay for it. I know this is a lame question, but I haven't been able to find many answers through google.
Also, I was curious, for anyone that had used Medalie, how much was the final cost for your surgery? I'm looking to get peri.
Thank you in advance!

I didn't go to Medalie, but generally everything starts with a consult. Surgeons want to see what they're working with and make any recommendations on what you could do to improve your results before they agree to operate on you. So you should call or email his office and request a consultation. With other surgeons, these usually cost about $100 and sometimes they go towards the cost of your surgery. I am not sure if he requires an in-person consult or if he will do one over the phone/via Skype. If you're not local to his office, definitely ask if you can do it over the phone.
You'll have your consult and then I believe he has his staff call you back to schedule. I would make sure you tell them that you're able to pay in full immediately, and I would have several dates in mind that would work for you.

I went to Medalie, it was two years ago so I might be a little fuzzy. They don't want to do anything until they have your therapist letter. I think you also fill out a form from their website. Then you send in nakey pictures of yourself. They will get back to you with what procedure they will do (almost always DI
). It's $65 for consult that goes towards surgery. After all of that then you pick a date for surgery. They will send a big packet in the mail with instructions and a breakdown of everything. They want you to buy a post op compression vest (there's a discount code in the packet). It was $6500 total. The secretary is super helpful and answers most questions. I only live an hour away from him so I went home afterwards and then returned a week later for drain removal.
