Title: enlarged heart concerns
Post by: Marlee on April 02, 2016, 06:29:06 PM
well friends,
I am back. Guess my profile got deleted tho.

I had just made a small step into HRT a few months ago. But was then diagnosed with an enlarged heart. Doe anyone know if this would significantly increase the risk of HRT? my feeling was that it could, and i sadly stopped (was just taking a low dose of estradiol though) I did just renew my prescription, but those concerns are back again.

Any thoughts?

Please speak to your endocrinologist or doctor about this. I suspect there may be some issues but it is obviously going to be safer if you get proper medical supervision. Are you self medicating? If so you should definitely stop.

naw.. not self medicating. My doctor has prescribed it, and I decided I needed to stop. But since i made that decision I have been taking medication for my heart, and will talk to her again. She is not an endocrinologist, but is trans-friendly and knowledgeable. She will likely give me a referral to an endo.

Yes, I think talking it over with an endo is the best way forward on this. :)
