"North Carolina recently became the first U.S. state to mandate discrimination against transgender people by statute, banning them from using bathrooms and locker rooms that align with their gender identity in government buildings and schools. The new law also guts protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Charlotte and nine other municipalities."

It should be noted that what's in the article is this author's opinion. Court rulings on law she cites have been mixed and some of them are untested.

Gov. in NC is getting blasted everywhere, Yea. Enough of that crap, we're just ppl wanting a place to pee sometimes. One NC sheriff sent the Gov a letter saying it was a non issue, in 40 years he had never seen a t person cause any trouble.

Still, the federal funding lost from not following Title IX will be a huge loss for each state that tries to circumnavigate federal discrimination law.

My doc is in Raleigh NC. She is trying her best to stop this. We all need to speak up if we can just as human beings.

I'm not sure that an entire generation of an entire state not receiving a decent education works in anyone's favour, though. :-\

Isn't it interesting that a guy was arrested in Washington for going into a women's bathroom even without a law.

Sorry, he wasn't arrested, but there sure were some unhappy women there when he started taking his clothes off.
