Hello everyone, yesterday I met with my therapist that I have been seeing weekly for 4 months and expressed to her that I would like to start HRT in three to four months. She asked if I already had an endo and explained I would need to get one before she can write a letter. She said some endow will require I live full time as a woman prior to receiving hormones and I corrected her saying no that is for SRS surgery. She knows that I only dress as a man when I go out in town but present as myself around family. She also knows that I am the very definition of masculinity and would no way be passable and only subjected to ridicule, stares and laughter outside my home. I already get enough of that with my half way done electrolysis, diamond ratings and hairless body.
I told her that there was no way i am going to sit here and listen to any DR who only wants to see how you handle it and that they are sadistic for wanting to parade people around like that. I explained I will present in town as male until I get ma'amed end of story.
P.S this is through veterans affairs so if anyone has any insights into how this is supposed to go down in the VIA please share

Take a look at VA Directive 2013-003. It outlines how their providers are supposed to proceed with transgender clients and what is covered by the VA.

This is not true at all. For the VA all you need to do is ask your primary care dr. To refer you to endocrinology from there tell them what you're after and they may or may not need you to get the OK from your therapist. Living full time is never a requirement. I use the VA for all my treatment
