I've always loved my name Alex because it was also a boys name. but since I came out to myself and joined trans forums, I can't help but be reminded of that girl I used to pretend to be. I can't stop associating it as feminine. So I've decided that I want to start going by Rin. Someone has already used it, and I really like it. So if you could please call me that from now on, I'd really like that. I'm going to try and change my username, but I don't know if I can.

Hi Rin, Is that short for something or a name in it's own right? Sounds cool either way.
A moderator can change your profile name. I'm sure one will be along any time to offer or you could PM one.
I'm thinking of changing mine also, just haven't decided on exactly what yet.
fist bump dude..

Thanks. It's a name on its own. I had a hard time choosing a name too. I wanted something neutral and was thinking of all the neutral names I could. In the end, I started googling names, but then Rin popped into my head. I've loved the name since I learned about the bird wren (but Rin is pronounced as it's spelled with an 'i' as in it rather than an e). I heard it a couple times as names in anime. I write stories, and usually, I like to name the male protagonist Rin. At least until I come up with a different name because my characters can't all be called the same thing. And I realized that my male lead is usually a projection of mental image I have of my masculine self. So in that respect, Rin is the perfect name for me. I wasn't sure how I felt about changing my name at first, but being called Rin just feels amazing.
