Title: A new breath on the Wind
Post by: WydeEyedDoe on April 26, 2016, 10:05:42 PM
I am Gender-Variant. These are feelings that I've had fantasized over for a long period of my life and am, for the first time, starting to act upon my desires to be more feminine. I have obstacles: Obesity, addiction, being in the closet with friends and family, and finally, my own ignorance and being sheltered all of my life. In time I know that I will overcome these challenges, however the REAL problem is that I don't know who I will end up as and that scares me.

Admittedly,  I can never know that before hand, I just wanted to get up off my ass and do something about it. I love myself and want to show others that I am a bright, happy person. I'm looking forward to hearing other people's stories and support for this new phase of my life. Thank you beforehand for any well wishes.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I sort of had that problem as well. I was pretty sure I was a transsexual but I had to accept the fact that they might be able to treat me and make the feelings vanish. I decided that what ever the outcome, I would be happy and after years of depression that was enough. It turned out I was transsexual and they couldn't change me so the rest is history.

In your case there are options to explore and as long as you are honest with your therapist and yourself, whatever the outcome you will be happy with your new life. Some parts of my life are different that I thought they would be but I wouldn't change them if I could.

Welcome to  Susan's. There are many here with all kinds of experience. It's a great place to check in and ask questions as you are experimenting and working through things.

I don't tell people what to do, but I would advice getting in to see a therapist. If it's a gender therapist, so much the better. I am still pretty closeted to most, myself. It is frightening but I keep seeing the future that is not all dark. I hope you can too.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

With warmth,

Joanna
