Title: New bathroom Laws
Post by: Kristy1234 on April 28, 2016, 06:15:03 AM
Hi Girls,
With all the new bathroom laws popping up all over the east coast I am starting to worry that this is only going to get worse. I am not full time as of yet but that time will soon be here. Should we all move to a safer area? Stop being who we are? I don't know the answer. What are your thoughts?

No. This is the last gasp of a generation becoming extinct. LGBT tolerance is on the rise and those who fear change see that this might be their last chance. More than 90% of this year's bathroom bills failed. Only North Carolina succeeded, and there only because they did it all in one day and refused to listen to narratives contrary to their own.

As long as we keep educating people about our needs, the electorate will become more informed over time and it will be harder and harder to make these bills stick.

Is there a resource or a single place that compiles LGBT advocacy oppotunities? I'd like to be more involved but not sure where to go or who to talk to.

Death throes of the patriarchy. The same thing happened in other civil rights struggles. Inclusiveness and liberalism always ends up winning.

Notice the lbgq has not stepped up to our defense as always..So women will be cool with a transman entering the women's bathroom? Make me wonder how many transmen are going to be arrested for using the women's bathroom??

Okay, let's not start pointing fingers at our strongest allies here. There's no organization that LGBQ people automatically subscribe to as a whole and I have plenty of non-trans friends who fall under that category who are sticking up for us. Let's not make enemies when we don't have to.

I would think that if a transman identifies as such, he would usually be using the men's room? Maybe not at some times and at some points in the transition, i suppose. There was already some silly incident of a masculine looking CIS woman being kicked out of a women's rest room the other day. The civil rights lawyers have to be licking their chops over all of this.
