"Fox News medical 'expert' Dr. Keith Ablow appeared on Fox and Friends today to talk about transgender children, going so far as suggesting extremely abusive treatments for trans kids that borders on torture.

When talking about the anti-trans bathroom bills and the petition to boycott Target thousands of people have made following their policy of allowing transgender people to use the bathrooms of the gender that they identify with Ablow suggested treating transgender children with the hormones of the gender they were assigned at birth."

This man holds himself out as a psychiatrist.  His proposal for m to f trans folks is to treat them with - wait for it - testosterone.  Great idea.  Like the fire department arriving at your house to pour gasoline on the flames.

This guy is aptly named Dr. Ablow as in "A blow hard."  I do have to agree with this guy though. After all, you dress him up in a suit, put him on TV, and he probably even thinks he is a human being. Us scary transgender folk aren't politically correct enough to accept that.

Yeah they tried that crap on me when I was 15 and I told that nurse I would kill her.  And I was serious.  They told my mom to take me home.

Why are these people with no knowledge whatsoever on modern psychology or the physiology of the brain allowed to speak on TV.  This argueably wouldn't happen in the UK.

For being patriot strict constructionists they sure don't believe in the Constitution. It enumerates the concept that all citizens  be able to pursue happiness. It enumerates free speech and separation of church and state. Yet they all think their rights somehow "Trump" mine.

This makes me really upset. He essentially wants to torture children. Funny they talk about being good Christians but they don't realize that Christ is about Love, peace and tolerance. My mother's favorite verse in the Bible States that Christ said "A man who harms a child shall be better off being tied to a rock and thrown into the sea"

Another thing is that the GOP needs to stop doing is using Abraham Lincoln as an example as a great Republican. If he were to see how the GOP is discriminating against a lot of people he would probably be really angry. Abraham Lincoln did say "ALL men are created equal" but the GOP seems to ignore that. Why don't they try following Christ's and Lincoln's examples.

I do hope someone deals "Ablow" to that so called Doctors ego.

This is what used to be the news and now is a blatant race for TV ratings and something called infotainment.  Something the trumpster excels at.  Free speech also protects speech that is free from thought, caring, reality and most anything is OK except yelling FIRE and inciting a riot.

Ablow is simply another talking head not worth our time but dangerous to children and the gullible who may not yet exercise critical thinking skills.

People who watch Fox News generally believe everything they hear on that show.  It's the propaganda mouthpiece of the right and it's very effective.

This is what I don't get about the US. It doesn't seem to be free speech but rather hate speech. I don't think something like Fox would be allowed to air in UK because it would come under the anti discrimination laws.

Hate speech is pretty much protected here, especially if it's under the umbrella of freedom of the press or under freedom of religion.

It does feel strange but actually rather principled to defend free speech.  Our American Civil Liberties Union once defended a neo nazi gathering.  The quote "i may not agree with what you say but defend to the death your right to say it" comes to mind.  Wether by Voltaire or Hall it suggests to me that any of us could find ourselves in a minority opinion status some day?

The news is something else and corporate media is no longer real journalism.  Our Public Broadcasting network feels weak relative to the BBC while the oligarchy has a choke hold on the press.  What was the quote about speech being free if you own the printing press??

I was given what my dad said were 'vitamin shots' at age 15 so I would 'grow up right'.  Yeah.  Testosterone.  It did change things for a few years.  Instead of looking like a somewhat feminine prepubescent person, I grew hair where I didn't want any, couldn't think straight or concentrate for any length of time, and was prone to angry outbursts.  I went from an 'A' student to Ds and Fs.

Yeah, Doc.  That went well...

I more or less returned to being functional several years later, and was in my 30s, married, with children when I realized who I really was.  I buried that one deep as long as I could, but I didn't make it to my deathbed with it buried.  I'm out to immediate family and under treatment.

Amy, you dodged a bullet on that one.  Doc Ablow is pushing a recipe to destroy thousands of lives.  Whatever happened to "Do no harm"?

Dr. Ablow is about my age.  Before I started HRT last year my T was already high, probably at least several hundred ng/dl higher than his.  But I had massive dysphoria anyway when according to him I should have been self cured.  I wonder why it didn't work.

Oh yeah, it's because he's full of crap which he would have known if he had spent five minutes doing a literature search on this condition instead of running his mouth with right wing talking points on national TV.  His cure has been tried years ago and it's a medically documented failure. 

Dr. of propaganda is what he really is.  He and so many others like him totally discredit the right with their constantly babbling narratives built on half truths and outright lies.

Honestly, the actual news as such on Fox really isn't that bad.  It's the hours of editorials they use to fill up the 24 hour news schedule which unfortunately are responsible for both their ratings and their criticism.
