Title: NYTC Has Released an STP
Post by: hardyboy on May 07, 2016, 09:32:20 AM
I'm pretty damn happy with my go-to packer (one of Reelmagik's 'soft' basic packers), but I do a lot of hiking and camping, and so an STP would be super handy. A friend posted about New York Toy Collective's new STP, the Sam, and I decided to give it a whirl. He compared it to the EZP, which I've never tried due to its cost and limited availability, but which seems the most intuitive of any STP I've looked at.

I don't have crazy high hopes, just because STPs and I have historically not worked out, but I did really like the last NYTC packer I had before it ripped, so I figured I'd give it a go and write a review when it comes on Monday. Has anyone else tried it or seen any reviews of it floating around already? I was unable to find any at the time I ordered.

It actually looks pretty good! Let me know how it compares in softness - if its too hard to pack comfortably its not worth it for me.

Hey, sorry for the delay, but I did receive it and I really like it!
It's a little stiffer than, say, my Reelmagik soft packer, but it works very well for me as an STP, so I'm willing to trade off a little bit of squish for that. It's not a lifecast: I'd say it's about as realistic as NYTC's other offerings, the Archer and the Pierre.

I might have to look into this. Our local shop is stocking it.
