I've been on HRT for the past 3 to 5 years off and on more so off and the 1st time it was only for a month. The 2nd time it was for 10 months it was great I was happy with my results in such a short time compared to what others had said then shortly after everything stop working and my doctor took me off for a couple years now I'm back on them it's been about a month and a half This time around it's different because my sex drive is gone and this is different for me I want to know is this for good or is it's going to pop in and out

Welcome to Susan's Place. Don't have a clue. It depends on you testosterone levels and what if anything caused them to change. In addition, if you take progesterone, your sex drive can come back. If you give us the name of the medications you are taking but not the dosage, some of our more knowledgeable people may be able to give you a better idea what's going on. In addition, you may post your hormone blood levels which would also be useful.

You can tell what meds you are on just not exact dosage.
Blood levels are also possible.
What kind of hrt are you on ?
Are you pre/non op ?
What kind of anti androgens ?
It is possible the first months there is a decrease in libido but it picks up later.
Thus a bit more data would be helpful.
hugs

I've been on a transitional dose of HRT for 11 months and my libido is pretty close to zero. I've always viewed it as a normal side effect of taking spiro.

My T is less than 3 ng/dl. My sex drive is very low.

The Sprio must be effectively blocking T production and the Estradiol will not convert to Testosterone so your sex drive is near feminine levels. If you want to engage in sex, it's now an intentional act instead of an impulse. This is why women need to get in the mood. As your body adjusts, you may get a return of some of your sex drive but I wouldn't expect it to reach the intensity of what you had before. If you stop taking Spiro you sex drive would return to normal.

I have plenty of libido, I am post-op. My T levels are 8 ng/dl, free T undetectable. My E and P levels are high. I honestly don't see much difference pre-HRT and now...things are good. Enough E or P is helpful to boost libido.

Thanks for the insight because I haven't had a erection in almost for days just haven't been feeling it at all I guess it's been weird because this didn't happen the first 2 times on E so I wasn't worried so much but I haven't been on it that long and I have no other effects yet it took 10 months last time for any noticeable difference

This is the completion of week three for me on HRT (Spiro and Estadiol), and I can tell you that my sex drive has decreased dramatically. Sex with my husband doesn't even seem appealing at this point, let alone the thought of masturbation.
Like Dena said, you need to be in the mood or, in my opinion, have some sort of emotional connection to the act rather than just "getting it on" for the heck of it.
So, don't be alarmed at all the changes you'll experience mentally, physically, and sexually as you progress in your HRT.

I've always believed that sex drive is 99% in the head.
When I started blockers I was 14/15, I started HRT at 18 and other than the "want it now" feeling that went away, I think my drive stayed the same if not got stronger.

At a bit over 4 months of estradiol valerate injected IM and no AA, as my T level is in the low end if normal for cis females --
My sex drive wasn't affected too much in the first couple of weeks, at a month the reduction felt profound and that was the same timeframe as I found I was experiencing change in my emotional landscape.
Now things seem to be settling down and I'm not sure where I'll land (lowered E dose may not be suppressing my T levels as much). I had been contemplating that 6-12 months out i might try taking 'breaks' from hrt in order to keep sexuality in my relationship working.
I'm still open to knocking off E for short periods but I definitely want to first dial in the dose and feel that I've fully landed in that part of transition.
Right now I've been seeing increased ability to enjoy sex and surprisingly fast arrival at orgasm -- historically anything under an hour would be 'fast' for me and lately I'm there in 15 minutes or so, I won't know if the changed doses have increased T for a couple more weeks but it seems unlikely that that is the cause of current evolution.

Thanks for all yal's help on this I figured some of this stuff out on my own but didn't understand most I just didn't think it would take effect in such a short period of time being as thought it's been over a month I wasn't going to try again for the third time because of the reversible results I got last time I had so many physical changes in under 10 months only to have them reverse back to masculine in a month I have know clue what happen but never did it effect my sexual desire or the lack of even wanting to masturbate the first 2 times of being on HRT so now the third time it's just a trip O mean the only good thing about is I can focus more on everyday life lol

+1 although sometimes increased E and T or even P can help...it depends on the individual.
