Title: Nipples
Post by: Alex123 on May 18, 2016, 02:19:16 AM
I am on low dose HRT to combat dysphoria, with no real desire (due to work reasons mainly) to come out to the world.  Nipples are a big give away, protrude more and more recently and are very noticeable.  Any guidelines as to when they quieten down?

Well they prossibly may grow slowly ...

what about using a bandeau like bra, or a padded vest ?

I wear white cotton shirts for work, a bra would be noticeable.  I hadn't given thought to a padded vest!

Hi Alex;
I was on a low dose of Progynova for about 2.5 years to keep the dysphoria at bay, but over time as the body adjust to the levels of Oestrogen unfortunately you will finfd you need to increase you intake/dosage (as per your docto's instructions otherwise you will slip back into dysphoria. After 3.25 years I have now found myself on a transition dose , because without I get quite depressed and down. Anyway unfortunately even low dosage means nipple growth. Mine were fully erect after just  2 months and when I am aroused my areolae and nipples grow in size. It comes with Oestrogen and Progesterone. . If rarely I have to present as male (not often thankfully these days!), I wear a vest and a baggy shirt and in winter a woolly jumper. It helps to hide the shape, but  you probably need to wear a bra to stop your breasts from jiggling to much. Just don't wear a padded one.  For me after 3.25 years on HRT, I am a large B Cup heading for a C cup. Al my female relatives were DD.
So it is to be expected. What I have noticed though is that after 3 years the breasts really start to round out and lose the traffic cone look.

You may consider adding bioidentical progesterone.
Many said it helped with rounding and avoiding the cone form.

Alex- You might try "petals". They are adhesive discs that stick over your nipples and keep them from protruding so much.

I would be very interested in learning about these "petals'. I've never heard of them, been using Band-Aids but they mis-shape the breast in kind of an odd way and it gets expensive. With summer coming on a better alternative would be quite helpful. Where do you get them? Do they stay on if they get wet, sweat, rain, shower? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just google nipple petals and you will find all you need. I would have provided a link however the google search turned up images I can't link to.  ;D

Mine have been erect since starting HRT as well.  They became erect within a few hours and have stayed that way.  Some cis women's nipples stay erect, so I have to assume it is a possibility mine could end up staying erect as well.  I think learning how to hide them now is a good long term investment.

Michelle:), a simple lightly padded bra work well

You may be interested in using nipple shields to protect your nipples inside your bra.

These are floppy silicone cups with teats which locate over the nipple. They alleviate chafing and prevent your bra from flattening your nipples.

Unlike you, I am actively trying to extend my nipples through the regular use of electric breast pumps, as I am trying to induce lactation. They are designed for breastfeeding women, but they do give me modesty, comfort and support.

Everything that I have learned about this topic has revealed that it's unpredictable how breasts will develop in regards to their size and shape, and that includes the areolas and the nipples of course. Personally, even though I'm getting really nice development with my breasts especially my puffy areolas, I still want so much more, I'd especially like huge areolas that are noticeably large.

HRT has made me grow very quickly with breasts and nipples. With full C-cups after 26 months I still go through growth spurts (...as I am right now. I fear I will be a D by the end of the year at this rate). Every time a spurt happens I get super erect nipples and areolas and they poke out my shirts too much for comfort. Today while I was out I decided to go ahead and wear one of my nice (tighter fitting) button-up shirts. I am always male outside home. But I had to enter a store today that had mirror glass at the entrance. I couldn't help noticing my obviously bouncing cones as I walked along. I became very self-conscious all of a sudden. It's getting harder and harder to hide my chest nowadays. The obvious problem for me is that any kind of pasties or petals can never hide large pointy cones. I know I need to look into some kind of full compression garments soon. Oh, well....

Shellie Hart, you are that point where you are appearing much more as a woman than a man.  With your overall appearance it is hard to hide all your female features. Be carefully with compression garments as they can hurt your breasts, nipples, and areola development.

Yes, I have heard of this. I will only do it very reluctantly when the time comes (yesterday :embarrassed:). I already get too much strange attention as I am. Future is scary.....

Pasties work.  After my first go around with HRT in the mid 90's, I have had perpetually switched on high beams.  Used to be self conscious about it, but eventually I got over it as I came to accept that I was just on a break.  A sister of mine could feel my distress and she recommended pasties.  I used them for about a year and then just went natural.

Even on low dose, the changes now started will only be held off for a time before you blossom beyond hiding.

I'm intrigued by the idea of trying pasties as well.

My local fabric store sells Nipple Shields. Silicone disks that smooth out your outline. Similar to pasties only less obvious.

I have not tried them as I love to show off my pokies!

OMG, what an incredible find Jin!  Silicone pasties could be so smooth as to give me back the ability to go braless!

I've been on HRT for 15 months and have very pointy nipples, they stick out pretty well all of the time. So far though I've had very little breast development, what there has been is of the traffic cone variety. I like the idea of the nipple guards, I'm going to get some.

I have seen some of the most notable change over the past 6 months and I have been on HRT for about 2.5 years.  Still time!  The nipple situation is one that I really did not anticipate.  It is an awesome issue to have I guess!

Recently started HRT and wondered if the nipples get bigger along with breast development. My are currently very small. I have 2 friends on HRT (1 year and 1 year and 3 months), they said their nipples got very pointy but as yet not any wider.

I think it just depends...ymmv is the often spoken phrase.  It can also be hard to tell as the change takes time...when I compare photos from 2 years ago, the change is actually startling.  Mine have more than doubled in diameter and are very dark, so yes they can grow.

I've been on increasing doses of oestrogen now for 8 months. I have quite firm nipples but generally find that a singlet / tshirt under my shirt works fine. Polo type shirts and tshirts are a little more problematic but I love having this problem. I'm at the "IDC what anyone else thinks" stage.
I hope you find a method which makes you feel comfortable.

Something that has helped me is to look around and see just how many men already have large erect nipples.

I was getting very pointy and erect nipples within a month of when I started HRT...  just brushing them on clothing and or the bed sheets caused sensations.... pain if they were bumped....and at about 2 months they were erect all the time and it looked like they were going to poke holes in my shirts... and certainly could be classified as weapons that could impale a passerby if they got too close.   2 loose shirts almost took care of the problem then I finally had to go to a lightweight sports bra under my shirts to give the no-show appearance as I was still just presenting as male.

At about 5 months of HRT, my nipples became very noticeably larger and the areolas got larger and slightly darker.  My nipples were still erect much of the time.  The good report was that when I went Full-Time after 1½ years of HRT I was at a full B cup and before the 3 year mark they were getting close to a C cup.   I really don't want my breasts to be any larger because of my active lifestyle.... running, jogging, hiking, working out at the gym, etc.
I am now 3 years and 4 months in my HRT regimen and my breasts are between a B and a C cup....  PERFECT for me.   My nipples are fairly large and a little pointy and my areolas are pleasingly larger .... certainly larger than most male nipples and areolas.  My nipples are still erect many times during the day...  I am a happy camper.

Hugs,
Danielle

Use progesterone with care, I ended up 22 with enough milk to feed a child on a low dose. I had to stop for obvious reasons, the whole ultrasounds with a local anesthetic and injections to suck out the milk was rather unpleasant.

There are some very pleasant ways to get the milk out, I have been dry for years now, but I still get tingles whenever I see a mom feeding.

Not when your presenting male and don't date because of the complexity of it all haha. ;)

I understand the potential for self consciousness, but you concerns likely have more to do with the SpotLight/Transparency Effect than being any sort of giveaway if the rest of your presentation is solidly masculine. I have been on a typical transition level HRT regimen for 9 years. The only comment I get from anyone about my 34B breasts when I go without a shirt is that I have "great pecs." That said, my female alter turns alot of heads when she wears a bikini at the beach.  With as common an additive as estrogen has become, and the general tendency of people to be overweight, more and more guys have Gynecomastia and manboobs.  The only person who would likely notice, or for that matter care about, your nipples is you.

I concur that your experience is possible, since I've experienced similar.  Except that I think mine are a bit more accelerated.  I am already at a C cup.
Areolae increased in size from 1 1/4" to 2 1/4", nipples from 1/4" to 3/8".
Lucy is still trying to catch up to Rhonda, who has rounded out, gotten pointy, then rounding out again.
Both are on fire occasionally and if I bump them I yelp!

Soft hugs and smiles, Jess

Dear Jess:
This is a very exciting and great report about your breast development with just over a year of HRT!!!
Wonderfully affirming for sure.
More to come perhaps????  How much more???
