Title: Would a Surgeon allow an 8 inch Phalloplasty?

I've read online that they don't recommend anything above 6 inches. But there isn't really any restriction. I've even saw some FTM got an 11 inch, though they did have in go and get it down to a different size. But would they allow you to get an 8 inch? Also why do they not recommend anything above 6 inches?

Nope. 3.5 to 4 inches is the average for a cis man so that's recommended; no quilified surgeon will give you a penis which us 8 inches. It's simply not ethical; practical or necessary. It'll also be too obvious you have a large 'package' and there's simply no pros.
I was watching a documentary about ftms and they interviewed a surgeon who answered a question about his patients wanting a large size; saying 'we're not making porn stars' ;)

We don't have a clue but there are unethical surgeons who if you offer enough money will do things that aren't wise.
The problems with going larger are a larger donor site and there is a greater risk of circulation issues that could cause the surgery to fail. Should you appear naked before other males, it might look out of place. Men don't normally have an erection when they share a locker room.

He got plain lucky. Stick a banana in your underwear and walk around for awhile. I think you will figure out why guys don't go huge.
I know you are new to this trans thing man but take a breath. You don't need to learn everything overnight. Figure out what you want first and figure out what you need to do in your life to get there, then work on the next step.

This sort of exploration is pretty normal, alex. I'm not sure that discouraging it is constructive. Early on in transition, researching every nuance of every detail of transition is all that we can do to combat the dysphoria. For me, that research was immensely productive and the answers I got to "silly" questions were absolutely critical to my deeper understanding of those aspects of transition, both in terms of medical / social possibilities, and in terms of what I was going to be comfortable with.

How did that person get an 11" penis through phalloplasty with no complications? My sincere guess would be that they didn't, and that they are a liar.
When you're talking to people about bottom surgery experiences, only talk to people who are 100% transparent. So many guys downplay their complications when they talk about their experiences online. I think the rate of complications that surgeons speak about is accurate, but I don't think online experiences (especially from a single person) are a good basis for judging what your own medical experience would be.
To answer your topic question - this will be entirely dependent on your body, and the surgeon you choose. If being big is important to you, you will need to be very up front with the surgeon you consult with and let them know that you do not want anything smaller than X". You will likely get some pushback for good reason.
If you want to increase your chances of being larger than average, I would suggest extensive research into ALT phalloplasty. ALT is recommended for thinner guys with a low body fat percentage. It uses tissue from the thigh to create the phallus. As that area of the body tends to be fattier even in an ideal patient, it generally results in a very girthy phallus post-op. It can be de-girthed at a second or third stage if necessary.
I would also suggest taking it one day at a time. You haven't even started to medically transition yet. Most surgeons will not discuss phalloplasty with you until you've been on T for a year (unless there is a medical reason why you cannot be on T), have legally been living as male for a year, and have had other secondary GRS procedures done like top surgery or a hysterectomy. I definitely understand wanting to know what your options are, but realistically you're looking at ~2 years between now and the soonest you'd be able to get this done. Techniques could change by then. They may find ways to increase circulation in the neophallus that would safely allow for larger ones to be created.

You should start with your insurance company and see which surgeons they cover. Nobody here is going to be able to tell you whether or not this would be an option for you or what costs you could expect to incur.

yeah my skepticism kicks right in about a 11 inch phallo. Hell I even got the measuring tape out lol. I have about 9 inch on my forearm and that ends in the fold of my arm. Not sure where you can harvest for such a long one. From experience. I ended up with a 4 1/2 inches. I have good girth. Of course it's all personal what you wanna pack but I am very happy that I didn't end up with something bigger. Get one of those 8 inch mr limpy and wear it all day all night. get a feel for it.

Sinthetics makes 11" packers, in addition to their full line of life like dolls. No, you won't ever get back all the time you just spent on their site!

This is absolutely incorrect. My understanding is that the average phallo is between 5-6 inches (FTMax, is this correct?). The flaccid male is around 3.25-3.5, while the average male erect is around 5.5 inches.

Dr. Crane says the largest one can go with ALT (the thigh), is 9 inches (at the very most). I know a guy that requested 8 inches and he got that. Dr. Crane has no problem working with people.

No, it does not.

I just did a general Internet search and most of the results came back saying it was 3.5 to 4 inches flaccid. I've also heard 5.5 is the average for erect.

Yes, but we were talking length of phallo. Phallo doesn't grow. You said that phallo length was 3.5 to 4. That is what I was concerned about. They attempt to make the phallo based on erect size of cis male.

I meant that a surgeon doing a phalloplasty will only allow a 3.5 to 4 inch flaccid penis because that's the average for a cis man. I didn't take into account the surgeon having to take more skin to allow the penis to become erect; because the original question was whether a surgeon would allow you to have an 8 inch penis; which I assumed Peter meant as flaccid.

I want to put together trending data for this if enough guys are cool with it. Off the top of my head, I will say that 4.5-5.5" is the most common that I have personally seen from RFF, and 5-6" for ALT. The biggest ALT I have personally seen was 7". I have heard of 8" but haven't seen one.

Also, as an aside: there is no different in the flaccid or erect length of a phallus created through phalloplasty. It is one size all the time. The only difference when an erectile device is implanted in the phallus is increased rigidity which is needed for any kind of penetration. Size does not change at all.
