Title: Bloody nipple discharge
Post by: Sylph206 on May 22, 2016, 07:21:02 PM
Hello, I identify as intersex.  I know that my brain is intersex.  Thus I am intersex.  i do not wish to argue.  Based on my prolactin level, I wonder if other parts of me are as well.  Although that is unlikely.  But I consider estradiol supplements, used to change my hormones, no different from estradiol produced by ovaries.  Please do not argue or I will leave this online group.  I do not need to be insulted as I was in the FaceBook group, "Transgender Support."  That is not a support group.  That is where if someone says they are trans and intersex, they get labeled "false."  I am true and honest.  Thanks for understanding and accepting me.  I'm new here.  And yes I am intersex.  I likely have what is typically referred to as "male" chromosones.  That does not matter at all.  It doesn't matter even a little bit.  Not even remotely.  It makes no difference whatsoever.  I mean if I could get XXY I would but I can't.  So don't insult me and we'll be fine.  I don't insult you.

Well, I got a mammogram and palpitations.  Shows me negative for breast cancer with symmetrical lumps and nothing abnormal, except for hyperprolactinemia (my prolactin level is 43) and bloody nipple discharge with milk.  I take estradiol  daily, Risperdal Consta , Risperdal oral , spironolactone , ibuprofen sometimes as much as 1600mg per day although usually no more than 1600mg per day.  My breasts hurt sometimes during my transition.  ow.  Right now.  Anyway, blood has been coming out.  Awhile back, an ex gf sucked on them.  Said she got a cup+ of milk out of them.  Didn't mention the blood.  Then I saw the blood.  Then they did the mammogram, I saw the milk mixed with blood.  Strawberry quick.

Is this normal considering the medications I take?  Risperdal elevates prolactin.  I have had elevated prolactin.  My ex girl thought I was intersex, though all my doctors say "It's all in my head" well they don't say that, they just say they think I'm trans.  But they were even questioning that - and I am DEFINETELY someone who needs estradiol any way you look at it.

So at first I'm wondering if this post is even in the correct forum.  I don't know if I'm intersex or trans.  But since I take so many drugs, estradiol, risperidone, I figure I'd put it in the transsexual group.  Transexuals pop pills and pump themselves full of yellow juice all the time, right?  The juice they give me in the clinic kind of looks like coconut milk.  Risperdal.

I don't know why I'm lactating milk.  I don't know why I'm lactating blood.  I don't know if I'm intersex, trans, or both.  I'm confused.  And I don't like that the trans and intersex groups are separated and segregated.  I am expecting to be insulted by some bigot who thinks that trans and intersex people can't be in the same body, and that intersex is only biological.  I may be biologically intersex.  It may be in my brain.  It may be related to prolactin production.  I don't know.  But whatever it is, it is my business.  I just am seeking advice.  Do I have cancer?  Did I have a vagina when I was born and then it was sewn up?  I had a very small "appendage" when I was 6 and then when I was 7 they gave me what they CALLED a "circumcition" and it got like 3x bigger and looked circumcised.  I didn't seem to have a problem with whatever I had before.  I just heard it wasn't growing properly.  I heard from my ex girl that I was partially altered at birth, and the mutilations were completed at age 7.  Don't know if it was true but I hope not.

My intersex "*friend"
*disclaimer pretends to be friend
would say she's a "bitch" but I don't know.  But anyway I want to know what I am and why I keep bleeding, please.  I hear my medication makes me have high prolactin and makes me lactate etc. etc., the base of my appendage, which insultingly, my doctors refuse to refer to as anything other than a penis, goes all the way down.  So how could it be anything other than a penis?  Not a mutilated or hormonally/surgically altered vagina.  I just cast so many questions when I talked to this intersex girl.

But why am I bleeding still after starting hormones on July 17th 2015?  I haven't had my boobs sucked on in like 2 months (by that intersex ex gf with all the ideas)

Welcome to Susan's Place. Only a doctor can determine if you are intersex as it can be cause by several genetic causes and by hormone issues before birth. A proper workup would include extensive genetic test as well as an ultra sound examinations and hormone level checking. Often it possible for doctor not to diagnose the condition if they aren't looking for it. In short, we are unable to judge if you are intersex or not so we defer to your judgement.

As for lactation, a small amount sometimes happens when starting HRT but given time, it should stop. If it fails to and if there is bloody discharge, your doctor should explain what is causing it. In some cases, lactation can be caused by a tumor and this should be diagnosed as soon as possible.

As for your mix of medications, nothing stands out as being a problem but I am not a medical expert. Again, this is something that needs to be discussed with your doctor. If your doctor is unwilling to discuss this, a second opinion may be in order.

Should you have specific intersex questions, we have a section you may wish to explore. Feel free to post in any section you feel comfortable.

Sylph206,

Welcome to the site. We do debate some things on the site and sometimes discussions get a little hot. However, we try to keep this a place where all are welcome and tolerance rules.

While there may be a few doctors on this site, none are really qualified to diagnose members. So I am with Dena on this. You should visit your doctor or seek a new one. Only they can help you with the discharge issue.

As far as figuring out "what you are", that is mostly important to just you. Provided a condition does not get in the way of your transition do what you need to, to feel right with yourself.

If you need help figuring out, I think it would help to talk to a therapist and once again your doctor. You can be tested, as Dena said, to find out if you are intersex. However, being trans is not something you take a test to determine.

Good luck on your search and self investigation. I hope you find what you are looking for.

You are not alone here. We are all in our individual issues together.

With warmth,

Joanna
