"The Rio Olympics have already proven to be highly controversial and the opening ceremony is still two months away.
Apart from the usual concerns about the lack of readiness of the venues, there have been issues with the quality of the water at the sailing venue, violence on the street with members of the Spanish sailing team recently being robbed at gunpoint in a supposedly safe area, and of course the Zika virus with recent calls to the WHO from a group of experts recommending that the Games be urgently transferred to another country."

"As documented by South African sports scientist Ross Tucker recently in one of his excellent blogs, back in 2009 the previously unheard of 18-year-old Semenya sensationally won the womens 800 metres at the World Championships in Berlin in a time of 1.55.45, one of the fastest times in history. She was recognised as potentially having high testosterone as a result of being intersex, and was investigated for that."
