But among the Trump Train's passengers is a fiercely committed corps of gay supporters, enamored of the brash billionaire's anti-establishment message and unimpressed by likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who remains the heavy favorite among LGBTQ voters. ---------------------------------------------
Ok, this is about gay, not trans, voters. But it is related.
I understand the appeal of Trump. But I think these people are making a mistake. In my opinion the election will affect more than which of two choices sits in the White House. It is also a validation of the beliefs of the winner's primary supporters. It gives them a mandate. Mr. Trump's primary supporters are the conservative Christians in the USA with their focus of blocking any further progress on LBGT rights and to the extent they are able, to undo what has been gained already.
Any LBGT person voting Republican in this election is participating in their own demise if the Republicans win the election.
Right now we have momentum. If that momentum is destroyed it may take years to regain it.

Pretty confident I can call that statement an overreach! Let's be realistic, there are just as many LGBT people on either side of the two-party fence.

Maybe he won't harm the gay community if he does win; but gay people who vote for him are throwing trans people under the bus.
