Title: RIP Terry Murphy
Post by: BeverlyAnn on June 14, 2016, 08:03:33 PM
The transgender community lost a beautiful person today with the loss of Terry Murphy.  Terry was involved in the earliest evolution of Southern Comfort Conference along with IFGE and was, according to Lola Cola, "An activist in the earliest  iterations of an actual transgender community..."  Terry was one of my earliest transgender friends has always been special to me for inviting us to dinner and showing Dee that being around me as Beverly could be fun.  Dee had been somewhat accepting before that but that dinner led to much greater acceptance.  I don't know if she would have been able to stay now during my transition if it hadn't been for that dinner.

Lola said that Terry was found by a neighbor this afternoon but no other details are available.

I am at a loss and sitting here crying.

Susan, I can try if I can get more by tomorrow.  Right now we don't have much information other than what Lola posted and we're going out of town Thursday morning.
