Title: Christianity is about the word made flesh
Post by: stephaniec on June 15, 2016, 10:42:25 AM
I just wonder why we entangle the simple nature of the meaning of the bible and especially the meaning of The New Testament in a web that derails the meaning and purpose of God's simple message. The message is love of the Father and of all others and the good news of eternal life. Simple. This is just my opinion not meant to be critical of any other beliefs or individuals.

An important distinction that i entirely agree with as do many liberal Christians. The word was made flesh not the flesh made word. Bible inerrancy and literalism often approaches idolatry, when the simple message of Christ is love.

Stephanie,
I agree with what you say.
The entire word of God in both the old testament and new testament is about Jesus Christ.
In the old testament it is prophesies foretelling his coming to save us from our sins and give us eternal life.
He is seen through types and shadows of people God used such Adam (our Husband), Abraham (our righteousness), Isaac (our promise of God), Jacob (the beloved Son) and countless others.
In the new testament is the old testament revealed showing also that he did come and do just that.
May God bless.

If I had to guess, then for some people, it's pride.  For a few certain others, I believe it's for filthy lucre's sake (Titus 1.11 KJV).
