Other than helping people and a few folks paying me for my help now and then, I've never worked professionally as a mechanic but I'd picked up enough 'Tinker' knowledge to keep just about anything running and even a few things flying long enough to nurse the bird back

My friends and I would love making our engines and such race car ready but would keep the exterior of our vehicles stock as to not attract too much attention

I owe my stepfather a load of thanks for a good amount of the basic knowledge, he's one of those guys that can repair just about anything and I learned allot

Unfortunately after getting hit I was not able to wrench quite as well as in younger days but I can still do a few basic things

I tend to feel rather uncomfortable riding in vehicles anymore though so I tend to avoid it and prefer to ride my bicycle when able these days

So then I'll adapt the old speed shop saying, "Pretty cost money dear, how beautiful do you want to be?"

I'm a heavy duty mech and a millwright, six month into transition. What's your concern?

And I am a industrial tech for the post office...
No problems.. I believe its a matter of attitude.. if your positive and
smile.. it helps those around you do the same...
there's allways a few that don't play along..
but that is there problem.. not yours....

Worked on my own cars & bikes. The best Jaguar mechanic in my town was transexual, nobody had a problem if they wanted their car or bike fixed up

It's somehow related, my little girl (10) is totally into bikes and cars right know.
She wants to go to a technical high school (http://htl.moedling.at) instead of continuing her education at a general high school.

So I see no issue at all...

My profession is mechanical, though not on autos any longer.  I am transitioning while working in appliance repair.  The only issue so far has been in regards to muscle mass loss.  I have to work smarter to get some of the heavier appliances to move when pulling them out, but overall...it is no big deal.  I have several sisters who drive big rigs, have 1 that works for the DOT and another that is an engineer for water facilities.

We can do whatever job we want, just like any other woman out there!

I'm a Manufacturing Engineer. Came out to my coworkers in January and went full time female end of February. Right now I'm surrounded by 7 other male ME's that I've worked with for 10 years, they have all been great. We all still help each other out and get along fine.

My boss, was my boss off and on over 20 years in re-manufacturing. Now he's owned an automotive shop the better part of a decade.

"Hey what if I pierce both my ears?" A: I would hope you didn't wear any that would get caught on anything.

"Hey suppose I dye my hair pink?" A: I'd rather you stick to typical female colors
