I just don't swim anymore. The general rule here in Belgium is no excess clothing in the pool because it is considered a health hazard, so no t-shirts (what I used to do with swim trunks and sports bras) allowed.

There are some binders that are okay to swim in - people say GC2B are okay and Danae i think too. People wear a rash guard or a t-shirt over them. It depends on where you're swimming i suppose. If you're small you might be okay with a tight sports bra and rash guard.

Personally I hate swimming so I don't do anything, but I don't think i would feel out of place at my local pool in a rash guard. I think it would look even more normal at the beach.

I've also opted not to swim unless it's somewhere private where I don't have to worry about my top surgery scars which are still red as heck. I don't want to deal with stares and questions (which is pretty unlikely here but anywho), I just want to be left alone.

Excess clothing is a no-no here as well. In fact, even certain type of swim trunks are not allowed at the public swimming pools, mainly the loose-fitting short-like kind. I suppose they use hygiene as the reason. o_O

I just didn't swim for 6 years. After top surgery swimming is no problem, no one asks about scars.

I don't.

Unless it's in the sea, in which case I can wear whatever I want.

If I do swim, it's in a non-public pool or the ocean and wear an old t-shirt/gym shorts. Thanks to dysphoria though, I've avoided swimming for about two years now. Sucks cause I actually enjoyed swimming beforehand.
A side note, a few years back I went to the beach with my family and stayed at a hotel with a pool. My mom asked the front desk if I would be allowed to swim with my t-shirt/shorts on because of my anxiety. They said there was no problem and put a note in for the lifeguard, and said if the lifeguard complained to tell them to talk to the front desk. I'm the US and this was just one hotel, but if you really wanted to swim there isn't any harm in asking and seeing what they have to say.

I've worn baggy tshirts for years, partially because I burn really easily, and nobody ever asked me to leave. Weird.

Now that I've had top surgery I'm looking into a tighter fitting top so I can avoid a whole body sunburn when I swim but not have all that drag from the cotton.
