Hey all, my name is Rebecca. I am 22 years old and have been a transgender female since 5. I finally built up enough courage to tell my Mother. I had been depressed, angry and suicidal. I wanted to abandon my family and go somewhere where I could be me. Anyways, my mothers reaction was not at all what I had expected, she has been super supportive and understanding, she took me out and got me a whole new set of "real" clothes. I told her I wanted to transition and she has been all for it, any advice for getting started with the transition would be so appreciated, thanks for reading and I look forward to having amazing friends on this forum.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I am glad you are getting the support you need and I would suggest you think about two things. The first is to meet with a gender therapist to deal with any issues you may have as the result of keeping your emotions contained for so long. The second would be to work on facial hair removal. Other than that, there are section on the forum for most any issue you are dealing with and plenty of people to give you advice on specific issues.
